Some early games. Haven't been able to check scores or do any research this week as to what are actually plays. Do we have anything today?

#498I reviewed the posts and found 11 units that were miscounted. The unit total has been updated.
Regular: +94 units - 14 units on the line = +80 units in the first half
Filtered: +5 units in the first half, since this is a single line labby and all units are updated with losses (nothing is 'banked'), no adjustment necessary
5/2: -30.30 units (TEX series was -25.5 units alone)
= +54.70 units
2H rules for Regular and Filtered -- only play ON teams with a .500 better record overall or at home
5/2 rules stay the same because that is how it was backtested (someone correct me if I am wrong re: 5/2)

#505I was thinking about Wallco's post this morning and he is right. I will have to go back through the thread still and figure out how much this system is actually up to prove it though.
There are two ways to keep track of the total profit for this system.
#1 every day add the profit and substract the loss
#2 If you do not want to subtract the loss from profit based on labby theory then only add .5 to 1u for every win. If your labby line starts off 20-20-20-20 each number being 1u and you take a couple of losses and your new line looks like 30-30-30-30, do not add 1.5u for every win. You only gained 1u per number you crossed off. Even if your labby is 40-40-40-40 after a couple of losses you should only be adding the profit of the orginal number on the line for correct profit.Comment -

#506It is as simple as it gets.
What is your balance in the book you use. Simple as that.
I hate it when guys do the " I dont count a loss until the chase losses." crap.
Well guess what your book does each and every day. Sure count the overall record as you what. But when it comes to real money ,,,post the balance, just as you wake up each and every day and see in your book.
on3 is doing a great job of this. But I think a monetary value needs to be placed on that unit. Whether it be $10 or $100 , who cares. A daily balance will be the most accurate way of knowing. Your overall record can reflect the losses. But the real way of nothing is with cash. Because my book does not recognize units nor widgets for that matter.Comment -

I gotta go through it and figure out which ones won and which ones lost, but i used the odds on3 used in the thread as well as took out some of the plays which later fell below -145 on the A bets noted in the thread. #509Wallco was right, I hate to say it, but the system is up $312.55 (15.62u) to date. Huge difference in profit from on3's post. And even if you subtract whats on the labby line, hell substract the entire labby line and you will not get the actual profit. A technical error led to a huge difference based on labby theory. Some one may double check my work with their own but I am pretty confident in this number. As stated before the first month or so I just listed everything as $20 since there was no bet size posted.
Sorry to be a downer in the thread, but the work had to be shown. If we could I would like to use this number going forward in the thread for an accuracte record.Comment -

#510Nice work JM .
Now at the close of business(COB) or end of day should have a balance just as you have +$312.55.
Then the start of business the balance posted along with the plays. Its not as if we are landing a spacecraft on a passing asteroid here.
btw on3 great work on your behalf. wallco, just like myself and others Im sure, like things a bit more precise and clear.
The idea of a labby system is to determine bet size, ONLY. Not to bank uncashed checks. It is simply a spelled out formula. No different than if we were using Kelly Criteria "formula" to determine what we should be betting on our next bet.Comment -

#511I know he started a couple labby lines at 20-20-20-20 and others at 10-10-10-10; just going forward we have to keep the line constant when we add new numbers to the line and make sure we only add 1u to the profit if we are not keeping track of losses.
There was 1 or 2 games I seen that got post poned I hope on3 didn't count those because I deleted them for the most part. Also there was a couple of games where on3 didn't have the juice listed so i just went off covers closing line. Either way give or take 1-3 units the 15 units of profit should not be far off from an accurate total.
Now I am pretty curious to last season's real total because I know it was done the same way as this season. I will not be going back to test it though because it is too time consuming.Comment -

ill start here: you flat bet $20 (even on B, and C plays) until 4/25 and that shows a profit of $193.20 or 9.66 units. for an accurate 4/25 number, use post #153, which shows +21.28 units which has 4 plays listed (3 were actual plays, one (B) bet and two (A)) all won. those wins werent counted on the 4/28 post, #164 which SHOULD show +24.28 units (a difference of +14.62 units). that would be the correct unit count at that day.
using +24.28 as a starting point on 4/28 until 6/1, your spreadsheet shows +13.38 units, bringing the season total to +37.66. post #338 on 6/2 has the season total at +57.5 units minus 16.85 carried units = +40.65 units. so until 6/1 we have a 3 unit difference. the record then was 69-3. the record today is 125-8. in the last 6 weeks the system has gone 56-5, while not horrible, the bet sizes have been too conservative and it is impossible for my unit count to be correct. there is no way we had the same +units going 69-3 as we did going 56-5. in fact, i can see how +56 wins -5 losses at an average of 10 units of loss, brings us near break even. i dont know how we lost units in that time, but hey, i cant argue with the numbers.
with all that said, i agree with your assessment that the unit count going forward should be off your spreadsheet, but with a slight adjustment for the amounts through 4/25. your spreadsheet shows +15.62 units and when we add the +14.62 adjustment through 4/25, we get +30.24. abandoning the labby (for units) is the best way to track going forward.Last edited by on3; 07-21-14, 01:14 PM.Comment -

#519Does anyone else have an issue reading this thread on a mobile phone?
I can read every other thread on SBRforum except this one on my iPhone 4 ?
I can read this thread on my iPad with no issue, and all threads on SBR except this one on my iPhone 4.
Not sure what is so special about this thread. I've tried Safari and Chrome, and this thread dies.
Anyone else have this issue? Just curious. I may have to start getting email updates.
Thanks.Comment -
