    We don't want Sandberg...

Externally - We'll either make a move for Maddon from Tampa Bay in a deal or something, or just sign Francona, those are the two most likely options from outside the club. However, another option and the one I think is most likely would be going in house and promoting the Secret Weapon Jose Oquendo. They've been grooming him for some time and if he is named the new manager, it will also raise the likelyhood of resigning El Hombre, therefore I think it's the most likely outcome.

Sandberg is the best option but it wont happen either. The team isnt going anywhere for 2 or 3 years, theo knows that, no reason not to hire a rookie manager and let him grow with this team. Very strange for him to rule out ryno.

Yea he did. I'm not sure why because the team has a long way to go, but it will be interesting to see who they hire

Sandburg has already been ruled out. Guy has never even coached a day in the MLB, let alone manage.

I don't think Tito is heading to Chicago, but it's not because him and Theo hate each other. I think it's just best they don't work together after what has transpired at the end of the season in Boston. They both are looking for fresh starts.

I could see Tito going to STL, which would be a very good fit.

Sandburg needs to the take the Kirk Gibson route and take a less-than-perfect job and learn how the manage...like he did with Arizona.

Not sure why anyone would take cards job. Nowhere but downhill to go. No chance this fluky team repeats. That's why Larussa left.

No way is he the only option. Just because he is the only big name doesn't mean shit. How many times does a former great manager go to a team and make them a winner? A bad terrible team I might add, i can think of one that is it. Better option imo is go with a lesser name so he has a few years to grow with the team. There are tons of great management material out there who just have not gotten their chance yet. Someone had to give Joe Madden a chance, someone had to give Ron Roenkie a chance, ect.ect.

I love it when people say this. I'm pretty sure that the Sox won two WS titles under Epstein. Much better than they did in 88 years previously.

Yes and no. Giving big contracts to Cameron, Drew, Lackey and Crawford was a disaster.

If I were him I would go to the Cubs. The Cards got luckey this yr. Assuming they break the bank for Albert there will no money to pay for the other holes they need to patch. Committing to more yrs for Carpenter was a mistake imo.

red sox won with dan duquette's players, not that teenage dweeb theo who knows nothing about baseball. poor cubs fans will continue to suffer with that know-nothing, do-nothing, running the show. he gave lackey 17m a year. chew on that one for a while. also way overpaid for carl crawford, josh beckett, jd drew, edgar renteria, kept the inept darnell mcdonald on the team for 2 years, signed a batch of washed up relievers for big money. yes, he ruined the red sox and ran out and left the mess for his understudy who doesn't know what to do.
