This world series has 2010 written all over it. The NL representative capitalizes on one team choking at the end of the season and gets to the world series as the underdog.

The Cardinals are clearly a team of destiny, much like the Giants were.

Texas Rangers = Buffalo Bills of the early 90's.

Opie, I am not trying to worry you any, but in the last 11 world series, only 3 teams without homefield advantage ended up taking home the title. The Yankees weren't able to overcome Diamondbacks nor Marlins and last year, the Rangers couldn't defeat the Giants, which were clear examples of AL favs crumbling against homefield adv. NL dogs. Again, and I think most everyone agrees with this...but Selig needs to change the rules so that homefield adv. is awarded to the team with the best record...it's proven to be an important factor, especially as American League teams are disadvantaged when losing the DH spot, as their pitchers may be forced to lay down sac. bunts and whatnot.

Here's a fun fact for all you Ranger haters to chew on:

As well as the St. Louis bullpen pitched against the Brewers, here's why that performance will be difficult to match: The Brewers had Yuniesky Betancourt hitting seventh; the Rangers have Nelson Cruz hitting seventh.

    That's right, FOOLS!!

Now.....enough foolishness. Follow me to the Promised Land.

For the Cardinal believers -- why isn't StL +120 in this series instead of +140?

the giants are not the cards. the giants had ten times the pitching that st louis has. the giants did not capitalize on anyone choking either. they made teams choke. bad comparison.

I think its the number 9th batter that is going to cause Texas some problems...

NL style is a little harder to adjust to then the AL style.

Absolutely anything can happen in the baseball post season.

    This year is no different.

Will be fun to watch it play out.

As for Cruz... Detroit kept pitching him up in the strike zone and he killed them. If he is pitched down and way down he will chase balls in the dirt. This has been proven all year long.

I have $2000 on them to win Series at Bookmaker, as well as $300 (so far) on them to win at +114 tonight.

I also have a $400 future to win World Series at +525.

    Good luck.

***I think Texas wins this in 5. (Not unrealistic to see a sweep, but not counting on it in anyway.)

    Another Guaranteed, eh

    Interesting breakdownfficeffice" />>>
    > >
Don't count STL out to win the series (just yet).

Lets not forget they already took out the best team in baseball this year and nobody in Texas' lineup is feared more the Fat Albert. Put a hot swinging Freese along with a savvy manager in Larussa and we may have a classic (here). They're also playing good on the road this playoff season.

Both teams are playing at a high level so anything is possible. >>
STL should get their runs either early or late against suspect closer Feliz. That middle relief for TEX is deadly (right now). >>

Not stating that STL will win just yet, but its not goi....or shouldn't be THAT easy for TEX. Their starting pitching may become an issue with STL having home field advantage.

Lets just wait and see how TEX plays in game 1 and then STL in game 2. Remember their are no guarantees in sports (Namath, Buster Douglas, and most recently NY Giants). Got to play the games folks.

I have no doubts, and I will have no regrets. Join me, men. Rejoice in what Texas will bring you.

    I want it.

    Do you want it?

I heard all of this same talk last year about the great Ranger lineup and the great Cliff Lee. I seem to remember what happedned to the great Texas hitters last year--THEY QUIT HITTING. I'm not a Cardinal fan and I'm not saying they will win it. I'm just saying you would be crazy to think Cards have no chance. If I were a Rangers fan I would be concerned that the so called "ace" of my pitching staff in 2 straight postseasons has yet to win a game. Having watched both LCSs I would have to say that the St. Louis lineup right now (not regular season) is every bit as good as Rangers.

I don't think you quite understand what i'm saying. i'm comparing the route that the 2 took to get there.

And the Cardinals made the Braves choke? Come on now.

Didn't everyone think the exact same thing one year ago?

Cardinals have bats, flame throwing relievers and the biggest reason of all to win the World Series....PUJOLS!

If the Cards can somehow pull this off...there is no way Albert leaves town. The Cards and Albert will be so overjoyed, they'll make a deal that both sides can be happy with.

The front office KNOWS that if the club allows Pujols to walk after winning a WS then the fan base will revolt.

    It's statistics vs. fate....
