Rangers +115 in Game 1
It's tough for me to back CJ Wilson the way he has been pitching but I think we are looking at a coinflip game here. The Phillies made Carpenter look unbeatable but Milwaukee showed that he can be hit. Texas will not go down 0-2 in this series - it's just not going to happen. I'm taking the Rangers in Game 1 and if it doesn't cash I will go bigger on them in Game 2.

Carpenter may not go in Game 1 because of a sore elbow. I think CJ Wilson at that price is as good as you're going to get.

Rangers hitters go up to the plate looking to hit. They won't let Carpenter get that easy first strike.

I like the value with Texas here, but I think it will be close.
Tex line up is stacked, will ding up Carp.

The Cards starters appear to be on fumes at this point. There are no breaks in the Texas line up. This series could be a sweep.
At least someone gets it around here. Cards backers think that Larussa is gonna keep getting away with pitching his starters 4 innings.
I do not understand how you can say this is not a coin flip. Texas pitching is not 100% either at the moment. And lets not forget the Cardinals were not suppose to beat Philly nor Milwaukee but look what happened. This is baseball ffs, anything can happen. I think the Cardinals have a greater ability to grind out and come back to win, where as Texas does not.

I'm leaning Texas, but STL has been raking lately. Over is looking like my bet for tonight.
texas. stl hasnt seen texas' bats (or anything similar to that lineup). watch as much film as you want, carp and the stl pen will make a couple mistakes.
big disadvantage for the rangers playing in the NL park with no DH, gonna mess with their lineup chemistry.
Cards are 0-7 L7 home games vs LHP, if Wolf can pitch a good game vs the cards, CJ can as well.
Tough call, gonna take the rangers.

This is the second year in a row that Texas has been to the playoffs and now World Series and their ace Wilson has yet to win a postseason game. I think this is definately something to take into account. I heard the same thing about the great Texas lineup going into last years series and we all know how that turned out. All I'm saying is anyone who thinks St. Louis can't win this series is fooling themselves.
