I really believe he'll crack and then it will be a snowball. If he cracks early, it'll go over. If late, it'll stay under. Only way they win today is if they get a huge lead early, 6 or 7 runs, then Verlander can win without his "A" game.

verlander is the best pitcher in baseball. hes been resting for several days now and didn't pitch much game 1. everyone on the board is betting against him. you know how that story turns out.

If I am Leyland, I would take great comfort in knowing Coke was my closer today in an elimination game.

not sure about sbr but in the sportsbooks where real money is exchanging hands, Detroit is getting the most love @ a 65 / 35 split on the moneyline and 85 / 15 split on the runline.

Rangers backers are the minority today.

Verlander went many games with over 120 pitches.

Only way he doesn't go the distance today is if it is delayed due to rain.

Or if he pitches like he did his last two outings...

Can Verlander go for a complete game? Yes of course he can. Will he? I think it is very likely, especially considering it is an elimination game. This isn't the regular season, everything flies out of the window in the playoffs. Could see starters coming in for relief appearances if needed.
