I remember a recent one, but it might not have been the most recent.

Aaron Myette for the Rangers was thrown out of the game after only two or three pitches and then he was played the following day (or the following game).

My wild guess was going to be Tim Wakefield but taco sounds like he knows something there.

    Damn, was it that easy?

    Correct you are, taco.

Aaron Myette started the game in Baltimore for the Rangers on Sep 3, 2002. He was ejected after his first two pitches sailed behind O's leadoff hitter Melvin Mora. This was apparently in retaliation for Baltimore starter John Stevens plunking A-Rod in the top of the first. Home plate ump Mark Hirschbeck tossed Myette, Todd Van Poppel came on and picked up the win in relief with two innings while Joaquin Benoit picked up a 7-inning save (what a silly rule).

Myette than came back the next day (Sep 4) and started for Texas, pitching all of three innings and taking the loss in an 8-3 Baltimore win.

Take a cold & crispy pint out of petty cash for your efforts, taco

I've got a brainfull of useless facts you know, but with baseball it's limited to the last 10 or 15 years. I remember that one solely because he only managed 2 pitches in the first game.

Keeping on the trivia tact, has any starting pitcher managed to "play" a game making under 2 pitches (weather/injury aside)?

I'm not sure of any pitcher starting a game and throwing only one pitch before leaving, taco. I know Ruth got tossed after facing one batter in a game before getting the thumb because he got into a scuffle with the home plate umpire.

I do know that I was at a game around 1963-64 in Houston, and a reliever for the Giants came in, went through his warmups, then got tossed before he threw a single pitch for saying something to the home plate umpire about his mother's career choice. But I'm not aware of a starting pitcher throwing one or none and then leaving the game.
