posada at DH is pretty cool for tigers. he is not the hitter he once was, hitting weak grounders mostly.

The Orioles got most of their runs in that game courtesy of 4 groundball singles with two outs in the second inning. Verlander had 6 Ks and 1 BB in 7 innings. I'd hardly call that getting hammered.

    Well, which is it?

I like Yankees in 5, even if they lose Game 1.

Before you pop off with a comment like this, at least have an idea of what you're talking about.

How is Detroit going to be swept in 4 games when it's a 5 game series?

I seen a lot of posters that don't even know simple things like this yet they bet money on these games....

Don't like that Bodog has Detroit at +109 and Pinny +123. Not a good sign at all.

I like NYY game 1 and Detroit game 2.

    Fister is a stud.

Everyone and their dog likes Verlander tonight. I don't that's a good sign.

People are too down on a good Yankee team that is at home throwing their ace.

Yankees at home with CC pitching only -129, there is a ton of value there. With that said, Verlander is a scary scary pitcher to be facing in the playoffs and there is good reason why the lines are so low.

However, this is still post season baseball, and it is still the 27 time world champion Yankees, and it is still a team with tons of Veterans who have done it all before. Be careful with this line, I think it is not smart to bet against Verlander, but I think it is even dumber to bet against the Yankees at home in the post season with CC on the mound.

I think the Tigers steal this one. CC seems to be worn down imo.

I just wanted to share this pick from Jimmy Boyd:

1 Unit on NY Yankees -128

Verlander was the best pitcher in baseball during the regular season, but the postseason is a different animal and so are the Yankees.

Verlander was shelled for 5 earned against the Orioles in his most recent start. He has a 4.06 career ERA against the Yankees and is 0-3 on the money line in his last 3 starts against them. He also has limited postseason experience and has gone just 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA in the playoffs in his career. The Tigers are 1-6 in Verlander's last 7 starts as a road underdog.

The Yankees, meanwhile, are 19-4 in Sabathia's last 23 home starts vs. a team with a winning record and 23-6 in his last 29 series-opening starts.

The Yankees are 6-0 in their last 6 Divisional Playoff games, and 37-15 in their last 52 home games against the Tigers.

It is interesting to see that so many more people like detroit tonight and yet the line still favors the yanks. I know very very little bout baseball, but I'm just intrigued bout this line.
