Casually browsing through Friday's lines, not seeing anything outstanding, when I stumble upon this hidden gem:
Royals +113
You mean I get Bruce Chen, who has won five straight starts and allowed just 7 ER during that stretch (including a win at Cleveland vs. Masterson just a few days ago), at home against a sliding, banged-up Tribe team for plus money?
Wait, what?
Even if you don't trust the KC bullpen, this has to be at least a FF play, doesn't it? I know Masterson's pitched well against the Royals in the past as well, but Chen has fared very well vs. Cleveland recently and the Indians are far from full strength.
I can't win a game even when the dog I have at +6.5 is winning by 15 in the 4th quarter, never trails in regulation, and falls behind for the first time in OT.
KC already screwed me once this week by giving up 3 runs wig two outs in the 8th to blow a 4-2 lead.
indians have not been hitting except for hannagan. they've got a lot of power hitters who are easily fooled (santana, duncan, even thome). i see it as more of a fade the indians bet. i'm not afraid of masterson either, he will give up some hits.
