What does the late move in MLB indicate from the books side?

For example a ml crashing dOwn in last 30 minutes before game from -145 to -125? or the combined points @ 7 going from -118 to +105

means they got heavy action on the other side. book moves to balance both sides. if someone comes in and lays a ton of money on the underdog, the favorite will move from -145 to -125. i dont think the timing being early or late has anything to do with it. but it probably means someone waited for the line to move all day with the public betting, then hammered it with the extra value. For example, fav opened -125 and dog was +115. if public is on the favorite, guy waits until just before game to bet the dog because he'll get more value, when fav is -145 and dog is +130. so he hammers +130. then the big better (or betters) causes line to move.

you might get a better response from a more experienced bettor about this in "sportsbooks/the industry" section. Just looks like a lot of late money coming in on the underdog to me.

The question is, do you follow that movement or go against it?

can you explain? I was always told to go against the movement for the extra value. for example, in NBA, getting 1-2 points extra on every game helps bigtime down course of season.

but im not that experienced. would love for some experienced guys to help me better understand this.
