Draftstreet.com — Cash fantasy sports leagues

Draftstreet.com — Cash Fantasy sports leagues

Hey guys, there's a free $250 contest next week at Draftstreet. Draftstreet is a cool new way of playing fantasy sports. It's 100% legal for US citizens to deposit and withdraw, and it rewards handicappers and fantasy buffs alike that know their sports rosters.

    <object name="player" classid="clsid:" id="1mdku0jfc0s" height="196" width="326"><embed flashvars="file=http://c1304512.r12.cf0.rackcdn.com/videos/DraftStreetFantasySports.flv&image=http://c1304512.r12.cf0.rackcdn.com//vids/DraftStreetFantasySports.png" wmode="transparent" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" src="http://c1304512.r12.cf0.rackcdn.com/mediaplayer/player.swf" name="player2" id="player2" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="196" width="326"></object>

There are two different league types.

    Salary Cap:
You select your roster each day when joining a Salary Cap league. The combined salaries of players must not exceed the given salary cap of $100K.

Snake Draft: This is the traditional draft where players meet in a lobby for a live draft. For small, interpersonal leagues this is cool and has an NFL draft feel to it. Larger leagues work better with Salary Cap, personally I prefer Salary Cap.

Here's a visual aid of how to set your daily roster in a Salary Cap league.

Forgive my artwork (or lack thereof).

You sort by position/salary to make up your team. Cool thing is, selecting Alex Rodriguez or any stud player doesn't take him off the board. The folks in your league (whether 1 vs 1 or 1-vs-all) have the same opportunity to build a solid team within the confines of the daily $100K cap. It's quite rare for all 14 selections to match, so it really comes down to the wire every day during the fantasy battle.

The Free $250 Draftstreet contest which takes place next Friday, July 29th will be a league like the one above. You guys will have to register a free account to participate. In the meantime, you can join some leagues using your given fantasy credits to try things out for free.

This could be a lot of fun. I may participate in that free 250 MLB draft and will check the site out closer to NFL season.

We look forward to partnering up with SBR Forum and providing another channel to use superior sports knowledge to get some more action during the dead of summer.

Feel free to try out our free leagues tonight or throw down a few dollars and get after it. If you have any questions go ahead and post them here and we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.

Shaun, we are open to Canadian players as well, but unfortunately no other countries at this time.

If anyone has any issues signing up from Canada, please contact customerservice@draftstreet.com.

You guys can play right away. Just sort by prizes in the lobby and join anything that says Credits instead of Cash.

The official SBR contest will take place next Friday, July 29th.

I signed up for draftstreet after I heard about it last week...put in a $20 spot and have done o.k...it's pretty fun, I recommend it. I will say though, the prices in there store are pretty ridiculous to cash in your "streetcred" points...getting a $2 voucher will take you a few weeks, and I'm an actual money game player...this of course, w/out faking my way to streetcreds by registering for every free game under the sun and just "exporting" my money league player lists to them....

Yeah, only natural that the play-for-free system would require more loyalty to come away with any redemption.

Draftstreet's cash players don't have that problem.

Daily Salary Cap leagues can have up to 20 players, if I've got that right.

Draftstreet is a site fantasy players deposit to. They have a number of deposit methods.

Their free platform is basically a good way with some incentives to learn how everything works. Once you're familiar with the platform, it's perfectly legal and recognized in the US as a fantasy sports (not gambling) site.

This is actually a very cool site and great idea if it actually holds up as legal over time. Sign up through the SBR link so Lou can keep his job, look forward to giving it a run buy in for as little as $2 into real money pools is cool also.

One of the best sites of it's kind, easy to navigate, real time scoring, know this, the players there are sharp.
    Great graphics.

    I love the site.

Its on the same line as 11runs, fantasy sports are allowed in the US (don't ask me why but they are) so this is 100% legal.

As for deposits/withdraws, paypal and v/**

The UIGEA (the same law that banned online poker) had a specific carveout for fantasy sports as a skill game, and thus legal in the United States. We feel that online poker will soon be legalized and regulated in the US, and aren't particularly concerned they would then reverse their decision on fantasy sports if they are headed that direction with poker. While it could be argued that Congress did not envision daily fantasy sports when issuing the law, it is absolutely legal now and not at risk of being surprised with legislation that would jeopardize any players' funds. Draftstreet is based in the US and backed by US banks.

Withdrawals can be done via check or Paypal. For a standard check we ask for 10 business days but you will usually see that it arrives sooner. Paypal or an expedited check will be 3-5 business days but the relevant fees will be deducted. Again, we try to and generally do process these faster than those guidelines.

As for juice, or rake, or what we call entry fees, it can go down to 7.5% at the highest level games ($215 games - $200 to prize pool, $15 entry fee). But on an $11 game the entry fee is $1, so 10%. As we get a higher volume of players we will look to reduce this percentage down the road once it makes business sense to do so.

We're really looking forward to next week's freeroll but anyone looking to get a leg up can check it out whenever they'd like. Questions, feedback, etc. always welcome.

Looks interesting to me and it looks good. I will for sure check out the NFL when it gets started. I sure think he is right that poker sooner or later will be legal. I sure see a bunch of this will become legal when it said and done.
