PHIL (-195 ML) over CHICAGO Afternoon Game

I like this play for today. after looking at the starting pitching matchup, it looks to me that Phil. has the advantage there. Chicago pitcher Davis has a 2011 score rating of a (-52 very poor) and his last 3 starts (-23 poor), and his last game against Phil. was in 2009 where he was pounded with 5 ER in 5 INN. While Phil. pitcher Oswalt has a 2011 score rating of a (+23 good) but his last 3 starts (-17 poor) and his last 3 starts against Chicago his rating is (+17 good). Chicago offense is struggling right now, while Phil. offense is starting to come alive. Im going with Phil (-195 ML) in this one. maybe the (-1.5 RL +105) are better odds here for some people. I just get burned at those 1 run games.. Good Luck everyone.

Yeah I like this play too. Doug Davis has pretty much been terrible all year for the Cubs. Phils are hot at home, and have Oswalt Going.
I sort of like Boston over Tor more because of how well Boston offense is playing and the fact that Drabeck has a 1.7 WHIP.

What a joke. The only two plays discussed in this thread are taking the Phillies -195 and Red Sox -160 (or whatever they are now).

Why don't you do some research and find a game instead of just laying chalk up the ass. Break even point is almost unattainable betting -195 favs.

I don't get how this is such a ridiculous play for you guys. 108 wins/year is the breakeven point for a team that's -200 every game. You're telling me that if Oswalt and the Phillies play against Doug Davis and the Cubs 162 times, it's completely out of the question that they win > 105-110 times? The Phllies won 97 games last year, beset by some injuries, and without a rotation as good as the one they have right now. They play in the NL East, with 4, maybe 5 teams better than the Cubs are right now. It surely is a lot of juice to be laying, but I don't think it's that out of the question. Accuscore has this as 74-26 in favor of the Phillies, making it, according to them, a good value bet.

Looks like the Phil bet is all about dead. Cubs up 3 in the first inning, not looking good at all.

THE STUPID CHALKY sucker play of the day. Why would you put anything on Oswalt when he's had an ailing BAD BACK the last few weeks.

Public killed it yesterday, then public jumps on Philly ML and RL today with the expectation of picking up an "easy winner" again today. I hope Phillies backers lose, serves them right.

I'm sensing sarcasm, but I never said I was smarter than anyone. It's just common wagering knowledge that the breakeven point is too goddamn high. For every -200 loss, you have to win 2 straight wagers to get back even. I'll pass on a 66% breakeven point.

O wow, Phillies should score alot more than 2 up to this point. Bases loaded and only 1 run score, this is not very good.

I guess the max runs phils can get with bases loaded and one out is, 1 run. tsk tsk tsk

If the Phillies win today, I believe they'll be 17-6 as favorites of -175 or more. That equates to about 74% and just over the breakeven point. Sure, they're in the black for the season so far, but can that last? I'd be willing to bet to lose 2 out of 3 as a favorite of -175 or more sometime this season and then bye bye profits.

VI, i just don't like it when people want to hate on picks, and actively cheering for them to lose basically out of spite..

Phils still look like they could win, I am surrpsied Oswalt has been able to settle down. But even more surprised Doug Davis hasn't given up more runs than 2.

Davis has been out of the game for two innings...gone after 5...usually do not give up runs from the bench!

No play for me...but rooting for the Cubbies...Davis has been improving...wait for the Cubs pen...

See Marshall gave up that lead without getting an out...a shame for Davis pitched out of several jams...no decision...

    Um... I know that.?

Phils just retook the lead, lets see if their bullpen falls apart again.

By the way, Marshalls was the pitcher who gave me the RL win for the Phillies yesterday and he might do it again for you guys who wagered Phillies RL today.
