    Cardinals have best 2-5 hitters

    Rasmus,Pujols,Holliday,Berkman

Berky killing it since being back in NL, Rasmus is the stud we thought he was, and Pujols,Holliday will get it going

Find me a better lineup than that

While Berkman is hitting like this, that's an awfully good 2-5. Too many numbers seem out of whack for Berkman though. Only 10 people have had a higher LD% in a season in the past 4 years than Berkman has right now. His HR/FB is top 7 since 2007. His .393 BABIP is ridiculously high for someone with a career .318. When he comes back down to earth, the Cards won't even compare to the Yanks.

I'm a huge Cardinals fan but man does our bullpen blow.

I think the Cardinals have lost 5 games this season in which they led heading into the bottom of the 9th! We have to lead the majors in blown saves.

as soon as Larussa and Duncan learn to trust the kids that actually got stuff out in our pen (which he has tried to start, finally) our pen could turn into a strength, just a matter of cutting ties with Franklin who has possibly the worst stuff of anyone that has ever closed games, that and we could really use a lefty but id imagine we will find a way to pick one up at the trade deadline...once our pen is narrowed to motte, sanchez, silas, boggs, and another lefty so we dont gotta use miller so much i think we are gonna be in a lot better shape than the disaster that has been going on for us late in game all season...

yes holliday definitely has it going, and our bullpen will be fine when TLR finally figures out franklin shouldn't be in the majors anymore. and we will be better when tallet gets back, hes our lefty specialist in the bullpen along with miller. improving team though, should get a lot better.

this 2-5 is the best in the nl in my opinion though, you could take the yankees over the cards 2-5 but the cards are definitely hotter at the moment, can't wait until pujols gets his avg up above .300

No doubt the Cards are hitting.....

But when Boston's lineup wakes up they are going to be pretty damn good too.

Pedroia, Gonzalez, Youkilis, and Crawford-----and Ellsbury is leading off.

We need to check back on this thread in July. Good stuff.

Not saying the phills 2-5 are better, but def should be in the argument... Howard leads all of baseball in rbis and hrs since when, 2007? Not saying he is better then Pujols obviously though. Utley is 10 times the player holliday is when healthy. Maybe in the future since Rasmus is still a kid and polanco is getting up there, he might be better... but right now, and based on the last yrs, Polanco is still a better pure hitter. Rollins has definately had the opposite yr as berkman so far, and neither did much last year either... but id say any team in baseball would take a rollins over berkman every day of the week... so yes, cards have one of the four better then the phills..

Yankees, Phillies and Red Sox by far are better. That fat pig Berkman won't be doing this come June or July....he's probably roided.

I want to rant also abt the bullpen and how Duncan and Larussa have handled that. The Cards lost a good shot at a pennant/world series when they let Izzy close for one full year after he had lost it. Loyalty is a good thing for your wife and kids--NOT for pitchers. If Izzy had not finally injured himself--they don't go to Wainright and win the series. I mean any baseball player with a modicum of experience can see when a pitcher has lost it. And these two guys can't see it??

Franklin had lost it last year. Now magically he is going to come back this year and get it back? man, it just doesn't work like that. If I had been Carpenter or one of the other starters I would have just said "trade me if that fool is gonna close--or let me try to finish on my knees with my tongue hangin out"

Was it boggs they trot out next? he is throwin pitches in the dirt and acting like he had just acquired Ankiel's disease. Next guy they bring in a night or two ago. He bounces one up to the mound like first pitch! It's pathetic and its Larussa and Duncan's fault. Somebody in the relief core has a pic of Larussa in a compromising position. In any event, Larussa should be fired for incompetence. If albert is not resigned, they will let Tony go anyway and A BUNCH of relievers will be out of work for sure when that happens.

    I feel some better now.

Cards are rolling and are the class of the NL Central. If Brewers can get their pitching going, they have a chance.

Extreme potential, but way too inconsistent. Dreadful offense last year at times is being nice.

Yer an idiot. Berkman agreed to the deal last year becuz the Astros asked him to for the good of the club. He asked to come back this season and the wise Stro's execs told him 'you don't fit into our plans'. Guess that meant their plan to finish 20 under......
