Why did the Phillies sign Jim Thome? Is there really no young prospect with potential that could SO for cheap?

George Sherrill is stealing money with the Mariners... 3 batters faced 3 hits 1HR, never earned an OUT, and his ERA was infinite. No joke.

This guy sucked 3 years ago with the Dodgers. I knew my under, or Dodger bets were dead once he trotted out the bullpen. He is hopless,b ut he must have a bunh of hunting buddies that are GM's.

wtf? surprised no one else has commented on this, outside of Joe Saunders they have one of the best rotations in the NL.

but back to the subject. Jon Garland, Juan Pierre, Manny Ramirez, Jack Wilson, Latroy Hawkins and entire Cubs roster.

Juan Pierre is still a viable baseball player. If he gets on-base, he is stealing the rest.

Ibanez doesn't belong in the majors? Evidently, you don't know too much about baseball.

Spring training means nothing to veterans.

Soriano's OPS is 1.160 in spring training, yet when the season starts, he'll probably be trying to claw above .700 and embarrassing himself at the plate.

Possible one of the worst calls in SBR history. JJ Gold would be proud.

I know this, but I know I have seen 7 Yankees games this spring, and I know more than enough baseball to know his bat speed is slower than it used to be, he's not picking up the ball out of the pitchers hand right away, and his body language is saying "I have no more confidence"

Agreed, which is why I was surprised when the Yankees got him. They could get someone better without it costing them much, plus they have old players like A-Roid and Jeter who they may want to use at DH sometimes.

They were choosing between Ibanez, and Damon. Damon is the better player IMO.
