    Are Rockies Legit?

Or have they just beat bad teams?

They will definitely compete in the NL West. Usually they have slow starts and a ridiculous September but so far, they've been playing good baseball.

    They are playing bad teams.

Pirates, Dodgers, Mets, and Diamondbacks. All bottom feeders.

watched all the games against the Mets, they looked real good. Mets would jump out to early leads, and then the very next inning they would respond with runs, they did that in every game. I think they have a great lineup, but I think pitching will be a concern. But right now the Mets would make a Rookie ball team look good

They have the best offense in NL West. Their pitching is decent but not superb, like San Fran. They obviously are looking good early, but its early and I think it will be a tight division race. They definitely won't finish with the best record in N.L. (should be Phili) like they have now.

yea they're legit.. for april. It's tough to think with their pitching they can do much more than win the west at best.

Serious contenders. When you have CGonz, Tulo and Helton clogging up the middle of the lineup...you gotta be considered a contender.

the mets announcers (keith hernandez + ron darling) were saying tulo is badass because there is no place to pitch to him where he can't hit it, so pitchers are confused. he has no hole in his strike zone. he hit 10 out of 15 times in the mets series, with 4 home runs. pretty good.

The reason I think their legit is because their bullpen is solid, and while the starting pitchers aren't great, they do a decent job. Also, they'll be getting Ubaldo back eventually, and while he won't have a sub-2.00 ERA like last year, a high 2.00-low 3.00 ERA will not surprise me.

Their offense is good enough to make them a contender. The question is do they have enough starting pitching.

    Agreed------------legit.

------but I agree with a fellow poster...."it's only April."

They will have slumps....but the offense should always be there thanks to talent and, in part, Coors field.

Not even two full years into his pro career, Car-Go has proven himself to be a superstar.
Tulo is now the games elite SS, Jeter is old, Han-Ram has slipped some, Reyes is all style, no substance, and Jimmy Rollins is a bit overrated.
Tod Helton thinks he's 28 years old still.
Seth Smith is a nice little versatile player, so is Fowler, Herrera is a nice role player.

Ianetta needs to hit, so does Ian Stewart, the two of them are death at the plate.

    Chacin is a solid starter.
DeLarosa has proven he can win 16 games in the bigs already.
Rogers is the 'x' factor, unproven, untested, but undefeated so far.

Huston Street makes you go to the whiskey bottle though when he enters, you don't know what he's going to do.
He can't be gagging on games if the Rox are going to go deep in the playoffs this year.
Successful teams have successful closers, Wilson in SF, Mo in NYC.

Rox are 7-1 on the road, that's a very good thing.

Right now, they are the third best NL team behind Philly and Cincy

    The Mets are terrible.

I do give Colo respect for winning two games in an 8-hour time frame.
