    Hiya Steve!

Been a long time man... we used to chat it up in the SBP threads. How have you been?

I consider you to be a guru when it comes to labbys... can you throw down an example of how you will run your labby being that there will potentially be lots of games going off on the same day with this system?

Enlighten us because I can not figure out the most beneficial way to do this.

    Cheers.

I like this system alot but I think I will tail the top 10 or 12 projected teams in MLB to win after a shut-out. For ex. Texas, Boston, NYY, Phili, Reds, Angels, St. Louis, Cleveland, Giants, Ari, Atl ,and Detroit.

As far as I know yes, both sides are played, where this is a 6 game chase, there is lots of time to make up for the known loss. However, I think most people only play the fade system.

I'm thinking the only mod was to not start a new series once Sept 1st hits. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

With 7 system loses, did the "FOLLOW" system show profit or loss last year?

7 system losses = a shit ton of unit losses, even on a 4 game chase, losing 7 series is a loss of 105 units. Going to take a lot to make up for that.

Just curious. Are we going to keep using this thread from last season for the upcoming season or is someone going to start a new one?

I'm halfway done with my backtesting program .. let's hope I get some results this weekend on how the systems really did in the last couple of season.

    Anyway..today's games:

System 1 (Fade a team that has been shutout - 6 game chase):

    fade Giants game 2
    fade Padres game 1

System 2 (Tail a team that shut another out - 5 game chase):

    tail Tigers game 4
    tail Pirates game 2
    tail Braves game 1
what is mean by "fade" and "tail"? english is not my native language so please don't cut me off!

I'm looking closely at NHL stats and lines from previous seasons, but if I'll figure something out, I won't start posting in the hockey handicapping section sooner than mid-November as I have a lot of work ahead at my day job right now.

I'll put up a post or two about the strategy later in the week, for now here's a quick results' update with yesterday's Marlins' game 5 win accounted for.

    ---
System 1 (fade a team that has been shut out, 6 game chase):
    Final 2011 results:

    Game 1: 162-149
    Game 2: 77-72
    Game 3: 32-40
    Game 4: 22-18
    Game 5: 11-7
    Game 6: 5-2

    SYSTEM 1 = (309-2)

    ---
System 2 (tail a team that has shut another out, 6 game chase):
    Final 2011 results:

    Game 1: 160-151
    Game 2: 79-72
    Game 3: 36-36
    Game 4: 16-20
    Game 5: 8-12
    Game 6: 8-4

    SYSTEM 2 = (307-4)

    ---
6 game chase. you need to have you're head examined betting this system. A lot of #6 bets i see.

If you're going to go with the full game then you're supposed to go +1.5 RL if the team getting shutout is an underdog their next game, and the ML if they are favored. if the juice is over -165 then utilize the favorite RL. Trust me. I know this-it's my system LOL! You can fact check that statement by going to my page and looking at the MLB threads that I started last year.

That stated this works better with the FF to cut down on the bullpen losses and get some pushes in the mix

When two teams that have been shutout face one another you pass on that game and then whichever team wins you fade them the next game

Only other tweaks that I recommend are to use only teams at or above .500 and if you convert to first fives if you end up with a push taking the favorite ML then that series is over. I only chase 4 games, and I increased the stake 2X and 3X and so on to cover the losses. Works much much better doing first fives gentlemen. Those push moves help the bottom line

Ok so the Pale Hose won in my shutout system first five today so that would be kind of what I was talking about by leaning on the starters to go the first five frames and get rid of the bullpen issues that occur with full game moves. I made a move for the RL because the vig was obese..

Yeah chasing for 6 full term games is a means to an end. The problem with doing the system for the full game are the late game losses incurred by bullpens and using it for teams under .500. The system as intended only called for 4 game chases and when I switched to first fives it worked wonderfully-especially since I rank my pitchers for fantasy purposes...with that said why don't you challenge the person who started the thread to a 25 move challenge to see if what you are doing is better than what he is doing? It's only fair. Can't go around insulting people without proving that what you are doing is better than what they are doing IMO. That's how disagreements were settled here at SBR in the old days of CK, Dexter, Tex, roagbettor, robem215, cnleaf, and the Underground. Ask samsncharge about the SBR Legend CK
