Detroit Tigers @ Baltimore Orioles (7:05 PM ET)
No doubt the Orioles are in a good place right now, but how much can you really expect from a spot start by Bergesen up against Verlander. This line seems almost way too good to be true, but it doesn’t matter. There is still a strategy behind each game, picking and choosing when to use certain weapons. Bergesen doesn’t draw the sharpest knives from the shelf. Better yet, the Orioles are only mustering up a .233 average against Verlander, with 1 in 4 whiffing air. This is an automatic pull despite the strong situational momentum. Pick: [925] Detroit Tigers -123 (5Dimes) Risk 1.23 units to win 1 unit
Oakland Athletics @ Toronto Blue Jays (7:05 PM ET)
The A’s are falling apart in the field, making it twice as hard for their pitching to keep them in games. Even with the surprise spark in their offense, without a dominant performance the A’s seem to have little chance. It worries me that Braden, who’s start was pushed back a day, needed more “work on the side” and I think he may show some symptoms. Litsch has been a solid no. 5 coming out of spring, while Braden has been a sinking no. 4 in need of more work. Take the better offense and the better pitcher at home for even money. Pick: [930] Toronto Blue Jays +100 (BookMaker) Risk 1 unit to win 1 unit
