    CUBS +101
Zambrano vs. Wolf. Big Z loves him some Miller Park. He's carrying a 9-5 mark there all-time and he's 6-0 in his last seven starts at Miller Park. Wolf pitched twice against the Cubs, losing a heart breaker 1-0 and getting pounded in a 9-4 loss. His opening start was shaky as he allowed 6 ER in just 4 IP at Cincinnati. He was so-so at Miller Park in 2010, going 5-6 with a 4.24 ERA in 16 starts. Chicago has traditionally faired well in this short road trip with a 12-6 mark in Milwaukee the past two seasons.

    YANKEES-RED SOX OVER 10 [-125]
Nova vs. Buchholz. Nova was beat up a bit in his one start vs. BOS last year, while Buchholz has been up & down against the Yankees his whole career. That he gave up four home runs to the Rangers on Opening Day does not bode well against a heavy hitting lineup. Cano, Swisher, A-Rod & Jeter have all had very good ABs against Buchholz in their careers. Eight of the last nine games between the two at Fenway have gone OVERs.

Nice Call Yesterday!! Its a beautiful spring day
in Boston today!! Great for playing ball!! The over (10) looks too easy with all the runs scored yesterday. That & the Greek is offering (+110) on the under yet favoring the under for both team totals........ Going against the grain & taking the under. BREAK A LEG with your selections today Bro!! SORRY!! We must've been typing at the same time!! Your post makes this a no play for me.

    ROYALS-TIGERS OVER 9.5 [+104]
Chen vs. Coke. Chen was a disaster in his 2011 debut, allowing 5 ER in 5 IP against the Angels. That includes three long balls. Coke is making his 1st start of the season after being in the bullpen for the 1st week plus of the season. The transition could mean that KC gets a lengthy look at the Tigers pen which is sporting a 5.12 ERA. The Royals are raking lefties so far to the tune of .353, so they may start quick vs. Coke. Chen has discouraging numbers vs. DET, a 6.71 ERA in eleven appearances. There were four starts for Chen vs. the Tigers last year. He gave up 14 ER in 20 IP. Cabrera has crushed him at 8/14 lifetime and most of the Detroit lineup today has had some success against him, although a few are poor like Inge & Peralta. Chen's four starts vs. DET in 2010 all hit for at least ten runs.

Know it is against my rule of two plays per day, but looked more at this and dig it. So what the hell, if you don't break the rules every couple weeks for one extra play, life makes EP36 dull.

    INDIANS +100
Masterson vs. Fister here. The oddsmakers don't seem to respect Cleveland's quick start to the season, but I do. Masterson has good #s vs. Seattle in limited exposure, 2-0 with a 1.16 ERA in 23.1 IP. He was brilliant against the potent White Sox bats in his debut, allowing just 1 ER in 7 IP. Fister was decent in his first start, going 5.2 IP and allowing 3 runs. Fister has gone twice vs. CLE the last two seasons, allowing 6 ER in 12.2 IP. The Seattle pen has been gasoline so far with an ERA over 6, so if Fister is in his usual 5-6 IP mode, Cleveland should have an edge late. Cleveland is 8-2 in their last ten in Seattle & riding a 5 game win streak against a team struggling to hit. Gimme some Tribe.

    MARLINS -112
Sanchez vs. Happ. Sanchez has been flat out dominant vs. Houston in his career with a 3-0 mark in four starts and a 0.70 ERA. He was 2-0 against the Astros last year with HOU scoring just one run in the two starts. Happ was on the wrong end of one of those starts, going 6 IP with 3 ER allowed. The Marlins have already seen quite a few lefty starters, so that shouldn't phase them as they are hitting .277 against southpaws. Happ struggled with his control against the Reds in his opener and was beat up pretty well in that one. He should improve here, but the pressure stands squarely on Astros starters to pitch well or this team and their inconsistent/weak offense stand little chance to compete if the other team strikes for runs early. Until the Astros prove otherwise, there are few reasons to back them at this point in the season. Better pitching & even sans Hanley, Edge Fish.

    CARDINALS +110
Lohse vs. Zito. Zito is just 1-5 vs. STL with a 5.02 ERA in seven career starts. Pujols has owned Zito with 2 HR & 9 RBI. What is amazing is how often the Giants lose when Zito starts. They have lost 10 of his last 11 starts. Over the past two seasons, SF is 1-3 vs. STL in Zito's starts, although one of his best last year was a 2-0 home win over the Cards. Lohse is just an innings eater for STL. He gives them a chance in most games. STL will get a boost with Holliday back in the lineup today. They played well in the 1st two games of this series, but two blown saves led to losses. Maybe Franklin blows it again, but I think today perhaps the Cards get a bigger lead that they don't yack up in the end.

YANKEES TEAM TOTAL OVER 4.5 [-115]
Beckett has been absolutely thrashed by the Yankees for the better part of the past two seasons. In ten starts spanning 2009-2010, Beckett has allowed 5 ER or more in six starts. Take your pick on NYY players who have done well against him. Gardner is 6/23, Jeter 20/67, A-Rod 16/56, Cano 19/56, Swisher 10/32, Posada 11/39. Only Texeira & Granderson of tonight's starters haven't found great success. Yanks have scored at least five against Boston in eight of eleven at Fenway dating back to last season. Red Sox have given up at least five runs in six of eight this season. Wind blowing out to LF-CF tonight.

    ROCKIES-METS OVER 8.5 [-108]
Hammel vs. Pelfrey. Need look no further than the poor pitchers on the mound tonight. Hammel gave up four earnies in 5 IP in his season debut against the Dodgers. He's 0-2 lifetime vs. NYM with a 9.72 ERA. Both those starts were at Citi Field. His road ERA is plus-5 in his career. Pelfrey has been pounded for 11 ER in 6.1 IP. He does have good #s at Citi & dominated Colorado twice in 2010, but show me something first in 2011. Mets are 8-0-1 with OVERs so far this season. Colorado comes in with six runs or more scored in three of their last four. Mets pen has been messy, so an early exit for Pelfrey could equal Rockies' runs.

    ATHLETICS +109
Braden vs. Buerhle. Braden has found a way to silence the White Sox in three career starts with a 2-0 mark and a 3.22 ERA. Buerhle has had hard luck against Oakland with a 4-13 record in 26 games and a 3.90 ERA. Crisp 15-41, Suzuki 7/18 & LaRoche 3/7 are the best of the A's hitters today against Buerhle. They're hitting just .223 against lefties, but have only faced Toronto's Romero & Reyes so far. They had a tough time against Romero, but knocked around Reyes. Chicago has been hitting everyone so far, so Braden has his work cut out for him ... but his career #s against their heavy hitters are pretty solid. If he can keep them in the game and the A's can get to the ChiSox pen, edge to the A's late.

    RANGERS-TIGERS R+H+E OVER 28.5 [-110]
Wilson vs. Penny. Wilson has a small sample size against Detroit, so it is a bit difficult to predict whether the Tigers lineup might be able to get to him for runs or not. He has given up 12 hits in 12+ IP this season with 6 runs allowed over two starts. The Rangers have backed him with 16 runs and should find plenty of opportunity against Penny today. Penny has given up 12 ER in two starts along with 13 hits in 9.1 IP. Plenty of the Texas lineup has hit him very well, so there should be plenty of hits allowed and run scoring opps. Detroit ranks 2nd in the majors with nine errors, while the Rangers have six so far - might get lucky and get an extra number with an error today.

    ASTROS -120
Russell vs. Myers. This might better be described as Russell & Bullpen vs. Myers as the young lefty will be limited to 50 pitches tonight. That means a heavy workload for the Cubs pen tonight. Their pen had been sloppy until shutting down Houston late last night with 2.2 IP of scoreless ball. The Astros though will get a different part of the pen tonight with the long relievers likely to get in there first. Houston may only need minimal offensive help with Myers going. He has owned Chicago in his career at 10-3 with a 2.21 ERA. He is 8-0 in his last nine starts vs. the Cubs and was 3-0 with a 1.21 ERA in four starts vs. Chicago last season with Houston winning all four. Houston should be confident with Myers on the mound. They are 12-3 in his starts at Minute Maid Park during his tenure with the 'Stros.

    WHITE SOX -117
Anderson vs. Danks. Anderson is 1-1 with a 4.88 ERA vs. the Sox, 1-1 with a 3.65 at US Cellular Field. Danks has been strong against Oakland at 4-1 in six starts with a 2.48 ERA. DeJesus & Barton will be his toughest outs today as both have solid success against him, yet the A's have been poor vs. lefties so far at .192. Anderson pitched well in one start vs. Chicago in 2010 and poor in the other, OAK lost both. Anderson has been plagued by poor run support so far and that may not change today.

Rockies rolling offensively with six runs or better in five of their last six. Niese sports a 4.91 ERA vs. COL and lost two starts against them in 2010. Mets pen still troubling with a 5.21 ERA. Mets have given up at least four runs in six straight & eight of ten overall.

    ORIOLES-YANKEES OVER 10.5 [+100]
Arrieta vs. Hughes. Neither of these guys has started off 2011 all that well, but Arrieta is 2-0 lifetime vs. NYY, outdueling Sabathia last year at Yankee Stadium in one of those starts. Should be noted that A-Rod was not in the lineup either time he faced them. Arrieta did start 2011 well with a 6 inning, 1 ER performance vs. DET, but then got buzzsawed by Texas - going just 3.1 IP and allowing 8 ER his last time out. Hughes is 4-2 against BAL, but sports a 5.02 ERA. He has looked off to start this season with 11 ER allowed in just 6 IP. Hughes made three starts vs. BAL in 2010 with 5 ER allowed in 18+ IP and the Yanks going 2-1 in those starts. All three starts featured nine runs or more scored with two of the three going ten or more. Hughes' home starts in the last two years have seen OVERs hit in 14 of 21. May see plenty of both pens tonight. Until Hughes finds his velocity and/or curveball, I see no reason to think there won't be runs on the scoreboard.

    MARLINS-PHILLIES OVER 8 [-111]
Vazquez vs. Oswalt. Vasquez has looked very average again, giving up four ER in each of his two starts in 2011. Vazquez has a 6.08 ERA at Citizens Bank Ballpark in his career. Several of the Phillies have hit him well, Francisco 4/13, Howard 5/15 [3 HR], Ibanez 8/25 [4 HR] & Polanco 20/57. Only Rollins sports really poor numbers. Oswalt was involved in two starts vs. FLA last season with Philadelphia, both hit for at least nine runs. Phils are 5-0-1 in favor of OVERs at home this season. Philly offense has been better at home and Florida got hot at the end of their road trip against some good pitchers ... Oswalt is a stud, but he is not immune to being hit hard due to his aggressive nature. Hanley Ramirez has owned him: 11/28 [3 HR] & Coghlan is 2/3 along with Stanton 2/5 with a HR.

PADRES TEAM TOTAL UNDER 4 [-110]
SD is having a world of trouble hitting the ball after a hot start vs. STL. Since scoring 16 runs in their 1st two games, the Padres have tallied just 23 in their last ten. They have only scored more than four once in that ten game span. Against lefty starters, SD has not topped four runs in any of their four starts against southpaws. They have failed to score more than three runs in seven straight vs. Houston. Happ toes the rubber for the Astros. He was vastly improved vs. FLA last time out, allowing just one ER in 7 IP after the Reds pounded him for seven runs in his 1st start. SD is hitting .243 vs. lefties, but just .143 on the road.
