What are the keys to betting in April? It's the first month of the season. There are no stats besides last years to go by. I've looked into sportsdatabase. Dogs seem to be a good focus. Even if betting on them blindly most seasons have been profitable based on that info.
Look at pitcher split stats. You can go back to just last year or go back several years. You can find this info at yahoo sports, click on the pitchers name then locate split stats in his bio. Very very important and underrated by the public. Splits stats will tell you how well pitchers do in certain months, how well they perform in day vs. night games, how well they perform against a certain team, in a certain stadium, left handed hitters vs. right, and so on. Much of my capping will be down focusing on split stats. Then compare the pitching match-up based on these factors. You'll find that certain pitchers
Dogs and Overs the first few weeks of MLB. You'll be getting some great value on low totals, especially Thurs/Fri when all the big horses are pitching. Won't be seeing a lot of pitchers go 8-9 innings in their first starts, so bullpens will be a little more active early on and that's always good for runs.
Just make sure to be on alert for the weather reports. Games in the middle of the country and north can still be very chilly and windy in April.
