Expekt does not offer a welcome bonus in order to attract new customers. Most sports betting sites will provide some form of appealing sign-up bonus, but Expekt goes against the grain. The only Expekt bonus on offer is an accumulator (parlay) boost. It will give you 5% extra if you place a winning acca with five legs, 10% extra for six legs, and so on, all the way up to 70% extra for a winning accumulator with 13 or more selections. This bonus is limited to certain soccer leagues, tennis, basketball and ice hockey. Expekt also offers occasional odds boosts on a few soccer matches, but these promotions only cover one specific market, like both teams to score or first goalscorer, and they do not provide much added value.

Summary

Expekt was launched in 1999 to meet the growing demand for online sports wagering in the Scandinavian countries. The business is now based in Malta, and it has been owned by the Betclic Everest Group since 2009. Expekt runs on the company’s own proprietary software, so it has a unique proposition, and it often provides high quality odds on a broad range of sporting events. That helps compensate for the lack of a sign-up bonus.

Expekt is licensed and regulated by the world’s leading authorities – the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority. It has broadened its reach over the past decade, and claims to have registered more than 1.5 million customers worldwide. Expekt had trouble with its poker product in the mid-2000s, but it is under different ownership now, and it has a reputation for providing safe, reliable payouts.

Customers may be disappointed to find that there is no sign-up bonus at Expekt, but it says that allows it to offer higher value odds. This Expekt sportsbook review delves into the strength of the sports betting platform, the quality of those odds, the live betting product, the mobile site, the casino, the security measures and more.

Wagering
Expekt primarily caters to the European market, so football (soccer) is the number one sport featured. It goes into very impressive depth with its football coverage. It goes all the way down to non-league football in England, regional football in Germany and youth leagues in many countries. All the biggest tournaments are covered, including the Champions League, Premier League and Bundesliga, but it also has odds on games in more obscure places like Bahrain, FYR Macedonia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar, Tanzania and Thailand.

You can also choose from a huge range of betting options on a particular match. Expekt has around 300 betting markets on a big Premier League game, from classics like total goals, double chance and first goalscorer to all manner of niche options. For instance, you can bet on whether a particular player will score more goals than the opposition in the goalscorer match bet option.

Basketball is covered in a similar level of depth. Expekt offers sports bettors more than 130 markets on NBA and Euroleague games. Very few bookmaker sites offer a broader choice of wagering options than Expekt, so we have to give the team credit in this Expekt sportsbook review. It generally has around 90 bets on NFL games, and NHL and MLB are also covered comprehensively.

MMA is listed as the number two sport at on the left hand side of the homepage at the Expekt sportsbook, which is good to know for
UFC fans. It is also really hot on darts. The remaining sports are listed in alphabetical order, ranging from popular pursuits like golf, tennis, rugby and Formula 1 to really niche sports such as bandy, biathlon, cross-country skiing, futsal, sailing, rink hockey and ski jumping. If you like betting on winter sports and Scandinavian sports, Expekt is a great option.

The specials tab shows betting odds on elections in countries like France and Sweden, plus the next pope. Esports covered include CS:GO and Dota 2. One glaring omission is horse racing, which is not on offer at Expekt. It takes a lot of work to run a racebook, and it seems that the Expekt platform does not stretch that far.

Sports Betting Experience
The Expekt website packs a lot of information onto each page, which can make it feel slightly cluttered. There is no search function, and that would be a welcome inclusion in future at this sportsbook. However, the navigation process is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. The menus and shortcuts are intuitive, and everything loads rapidly.

Some bookmakers include more sections within a particular game, which speeds up the process. At Expekt you have to scroll a long way down the page to find some of the less popular markets, which is time consuming. Yet the bet slip works well, and we found the registration and banking processes to be smooth and simple when conducting this Expekt review.
The website is unlikely to win any beauty contests. It follows a pretty sober color scheme, with orange branding and black text on a gray background. Overall, the user experience is pretty good, but not as slick as the best sportsbooks, like Bet365, William Hill and BetOnline

One strength is the live betting platform, which is very comprehensive. It often provides more than 50 betting options on niche soccer games. There is no live streaming, but you can see stats and watch a live infographic that keeps you abreast of developments within a game. It is definitely an above average live betting product. You can also cash out your bets if you so desire, and many sportsbooks do not give players this level of control.

Quality of Odds
Our Expekt sportsbook review found the quality of odds on offer at this site to be strong. It claims to have stopped running its welcome bonus in order to provide players with more generous odds, and that is evident in the odds comparison we conducted. It does not offer market leading prices all that often, but the soccer odds are broadly in line with the likes of William Hill and 888 Sport. Players can change the odds format easily.

This is a European sportsbook, so it does not offer the standard dime or nickel lines on spreads and totals that some North American players might be accustomed to. Instead players will find all manner of different lines to choose from on American football, baseball and basketball, and the odds are a mixed bag. This review should also point out that we found the futures odds on big tournaments like the Masters, the Australian Open and the US Open to be of an excellent quality at Expekt.

Mobile Betting Review
Expekt does not have a mobile app, so you will need to visit the mobile site from your browser. The design is simple and effective. A menu bar at the bottom of the screen allows you to access a list of sports covered. The buttons are sharp and responsive, and pages load with exceptional speed. If you want to bet on a big upcoming game, you can place your wager with just a few taps of the screen. The mobile bet slip works really well.

It is great mobile site for people that are well versed in online betting, and for newcomers too. The whole gambling process is quick, simple and convenient. We also found the payment options listed clearly, and we could access customer support without any problems, so it is a solid mobile online betting site.

Other Options
Expekt has an excellent online casino. It is divided into new games, hot games, jackpots, Megaways, Evolution (live casino games), most popular, live roulette, joker games, Skywind, our favourite books, Quickfire, and TV, Films & Music. These shortcuts are handy, and it also has a search function for the casino. Expekt provides casino games from many of the world’s leading software providers, including Evolution, Microgaming, NetEnt, Pragmatic, Yggdrasil, ISoftBet, Quickspin, Relax Gaming and Blooming Games.

You cannot fault the quality of the live dealer casino, which is packed full of the latest Evolution titles. There is a healthy mix of slots on offer at Expekt casino, from old-school classics to the latest new releases, plus plenty of exciting progressive jackpot games. Virtual table game fans will find lots of roulette, blackjack and video poker variants on offer. The casino is laid out in a neat, attractive manner, and it looks a lot more appealing than the sportsbook. There is no racebook or poker room.

Customer Service
Expekt offers extensive help and comprehensive tutorials to any customers that require added support. You can adjust the help level you receive in the “My Account” page, which is a nice touch. There are help centers with FAQs, and the Expekt customer support team can answer questions about issues like deposit amount, betting odds, bonus conditions, site navigation, or a specific wagering requirement you might have. They will also gladly take feedback and provide comments via live chat or email.

Reputation
Expekt has a reasonably strong reputation in the industry. There are no concerns around its liquidity, reliability or trustworthiness. You can rest assured that you are gambling in a safe, secure environment, and that you will be paid out in full and on time when you request a withdrawal.

Expekt offers pretty high-quality odds, it covers a large array of sports and provides a fantastic array of wagering options on each type of event. In addition to the sportsbook, it has an excellent casino. However, Expekt does not stack up against the best sportsbooks in the business, like BovadaBookmaker and Heritage Sports

There is no sign-up bonus, no VIP program, the promotions are underwhelming, and the overall sports betting experience is a little clunky, which makes it difficult to find certain pages. All in all, it is a good online sportsbook, worthy of a B- rating, but it certainly has room for improvement.

The player denies being related to any other accounts or taking part in any chip-dumping. Expekt did not provide any proof to support its conclusion to the player. SBR has contacted Expekt.

SBR’s Sports Betting Rules Monitor: Sportsbooks react to rainout in Yankees vs. Orioles game on June 28th, 2007. Expekt (SBR rating B-) earns 2nd upgrade in four months

SBR has reevaluated Expekt after an increase in positive feedback in recent months, some of which suggesting the SBR rating was too low. Player inquiries to SBR have been addressed swiftly by the bookmaker’s Trading Director, Jon Thompson. Expekt users are invited to continue to submit feedback to SBR.

Player: I recently misplaced a wager on a soccer match with this bookmaker. I inadvertently played a three way handicap when i thought i was playing a true asian. I backed a team to win 1-0 and they lost 0-1. When my bet was not refunded as a push i contacted Expekt complaining of their error. Within 24hrs the manager called me personally to resolve this issue. Not only did he take the time to call but when he did he had already reviewed the screen shots for the bet concerned and when i tried to argue that it was their mistake he politely re-assured me that in fact i had taken the wrong type of wager.
The gentleman then offered to refund half my wager as a goodwill gesture as i think he could sense my sincerity in the matter concerned and that i truly believed i was placing an asian. To me this was something that has endeared this bookmaker to me and goes well beyond any kind of service i have ever encountered.
