Bonuses

100% Free Play up to $1,000 Terms and conditions apply

New customers have three key bonus options to choose for when signing up for an account at ABCIslands sportsbook. You can enjoy a 100% welcome free play bonus if you deposit anything from $100 to $1,000 in a new ABC Islands account. That means you can access $1,000 free credit, but this free play cash bonus offer does carry a 12x rollover requirement, which is pretty steep.

The rollover requirement includes the sum of the deposit and awarded bonuses. Therefore, if you made a deposit of $1,000 and received $1,000 as part of the free play offer, you would need to roll $2,000 over 12 times before you could make a withdrawal. That amounts to $24,000 in wagers. If you take the 100% free play bonus, the maximum wager is $500, so you would need to make a large number of bets before you could actually take any money out of your account.

If a 12x rollover does not particularly appeal, you have the option of a 50% free play bonus. Once again, this is valid for initial deposits of anywhere between $100 and $1,000, but the rollover requirement is 8x. Finally, you can choose a 25% free play bonus, and there is just a 4x rollover on this offer. It is impressive to see a flexible range of cash bonus deals, but it would be great if ABCIslands were to reduce its rollover requirements slightly. Rival sportsbooks do not require you to roll over your bonus balance so many times when you take advantage of a 100% free play welcome bonus offer.

You will not find reload bonuses, short-term promotions designed to tie in with current sporting events or a loyalty scheme. However, there is a 7% horse betting rebate, which is a great offer for racing fans, and you can enjoy a 200% welcome online casino deposit bonus and a 100% reload online casino cash bonus at ABC Islands.

You have a narrow range of banking options at your disposal when you decide to make a deposit at the ABC Islands sportsbook. If you want to use a credit card, you will not qualify for any of the cash bonuses listed above. The ABCIslands rules stipulate that the maximum bonus for any credit card deposit is just 10%. There is also a 21-day hold on the first credit or debit card deposit, and a minimum deposit requirement of $50. If you want to use a credit card and enjoy a strong welcome bonus, check out some of our best sportsbooks, like Bovada and BetOnline

Another option is Skrill. However, this is only available for clients outside of the US, and ABCIslands is predominantly a US-facing sportsbook. The minimum deposit when using Skrill is $100, which could put off some recreational players. It is not possible to use Neteller, PayPal, Sofort or PaySafeCard at ABCIslands. You can make a person-to-person (P2P) deposit by calling 1-888-632-8890. There is a minimum of $100 and a maximum of $500, and also a maximum of $1,000 per sender per month.

ABCIslands is clearly trying to encourage clients to use cryptocurrencies as a deposit method. Anyone can make a deposit using Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin or Dash, deposits are instant, and there is no minimum deposit, although you will be charged $2 if you want to make a Bitcoin deposit under $50.

You are even more limited when it comes to making a withdrawal at ABCIslands. Sportsbook Review found that it provides just two options for payouts: P2P and crypto. The site says that “funds cannot be deposited back to credit or debit cards,” which could be a real turn-off for certain players, especially if you do not like using crypto. Another strange clause requires members to “maintain a regular activity record during the seven days prior to the issuance of the payout request”.

You have to call to request P2P payouts, but crypto withdrawal requests can be made online. ABCIslands has previously announced that it offers same day payouts, but this means it will process the payments on the day it receives them. You will still have to wait the standard time for your money to arrive. Your best bet is to withdraw to a crypto wallet, as it is the fastest and easiest way to receive your money from ABC Islands.

Summary

ABCIslands is an established online sportsbook with a reputation for offering competitive odds, generous teasers and high limits. The site primarily targets US customers and welcomes action from casual players and sharp bettors alike. ABCIslands is part of the Costa Rica-based DPT Group, which also owns Jazz Sports and LooseLines.

The brand takes its name from the ABC islands – Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao – which belong to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. ABCIslands sportsbook has historic ties to Curacao. The sportsbook has been online since 1998 and its rating with Sportsbook Review has hovered between a B and a D during that time.

It plunged to a D rating in our sportsbook ratings in 2013 after the parent company drew a lot of player complaints over slow payments. ABC Islands was upgraded to a C the following year, and then from a B- to B back in 2016. It has held that rating with Sportsbook Review ever since. The sportsbook does not rank among our best online betting sites, and it has a few shortcomings, but overall ABC Islands is a reasonably strong all-round site with plenty of great attributes.

Wagering
ABCIslands sportsbook is mainly aimed at bettors from the United States, so American sports take pride of place on the site. It offers a reasonable range of futures betting options on the key US leagues. ABC Islands also posts its lines pretty early, so you can bet on NFL action well in advance of the game taking place throughout the football season, for instance. It is not quite as early as Bookmaker, but it is certainly quicker than most. There are a few prop bets when it comes to football and basketball, but it mainly just offers spreads, totals and moneyline betting.

However, this sportsbook has recently started to branch out by covering more sporting action from around the world. It really broadened its offering during the coronavirus lockdown of 2020, and continued covering more niche sports, such as darts, snooker and table tennis, on an ongoing basis. ABCIslands also began covering simulation leagues for the first time, and it has launched a dedicated esports gaming platform covering LoL, Dota 2 CS:GO and more. There are markets on golf, rugby, volleyball, motor racing, cricket and fighting.

ABCIslands has also really ramped up its soccer coverage in recent years. It allows you to bet on a huge range of leagues from around the world. ABCIslands has markets on games taking place in Belarus, Costa Rica and South Korea. The major European books will cover many more leagues, but it is nice to see a US-facing book go pretty deep on soccer. It even covers the lower leagues in a number of countries. The list of wagering options is pretty basic when it comes to soccer games in South Korea and so on, but you can find more than 100 bet types on big games in the Premier League and Bundesliga.

You will also find entertainment markets on events like Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and the Spelling Bee. It also added a d betting section in 2020. You will see plenty of lottery betting markets too, which will appeal to some players.

Live Betting
There is a solid live wagering option at ABCIslands. Plenty of sportsbooks do not offer live betting, so it is good to see ABCIslands taking it seriously. You will see live score updates and line changes, and some streaming is possible, but overall it does not compare to the best sportsbooks in the business. A greater range of live betting options and better live streaming would be welcome, but overall this section is pretty strong.

Sports Betting Experience
Some sports bettors may find the ABCIslands desktop site pretty bland and basic. It certainly lacks the visual flourishes and exciting graphics that various rival betting sites contain. However, many will revel in the clean, crisp design. The site is absolutely clutter-free. Most sports betting sites have lists of the next games that are set to take place and widgets pointing you towards exciting content, but you will not find this at ABCIslands. It does have has clear links and a user-friendly interface.

The site lists the range of sports it covers down the left. Click on any sport and a drop-down menu will inform you of the various leagues on offer. Click on a league and your betting options will appear in the middle of the screen. The whole process is smooth and intuitive. There is also a search function, which is a really helpful tool. A large number of sportsbook sites lack a search bar, so it is great to find one prominently displayed at ABCIslands.

You can find sporting events with ease and the bet slip is simple and effective. Toggle navigation allows you to find your way around the site, and you can check out the various bet type options with ease. Each menu bar is effective. It may not look flashy, but we really have no complaints regarding the general usability of the ABCIslands platform. The white, red and gray color scheme is easy on the eye, and overall it is a pleasure to use.

Quality of Odds
ABCIslands offers -110 lines on spreads and totals when it comes to NFL and NBA games. That is pretty standard for the industry. Having said that, some of our top sportsbooks offer reduced juice lines of -105, so you may wish to seek them out instead. We also tested out the quality of the moneyline and prop betting odds at ABCIslands and found them to be generally competitive with the best sportsbooks in the business, so you should have no real complaints in this department. ABCIslands refers to itself as the king of teasers, so anyone that likes betting on them should enjoy the wagering experience at this website.

Mobile Betting Review
The ABCIslands mobile betting platform mimics the desktop site pretty well. However, it could do with a bit of an overhaul to improve the user experience. One gripe is that load times can be slow. You will often need to scroll down the page for a while in order to find a market you are interested in, so betting quickly on the go is not always possible. That is something for the team to work on.

Yet overall, the mobile offering is pretty solid at ABCIslands. There is no need to download an app, so you can just fire up the mobile optimized site on your browser and start betting. All the betting markets and casino games from the desktop site are on there, but it just takes a bit longer to find them.

Other Options
ABCIslands has a reasonably strong online casino for its customers. You will find more than 400 casino games, covering slots, blackjack, roulette and poker. Various rivals offer a far broader range, and better live dealer play and progressive jackpot options, but casual online casino players will find plenty here to keep them entertained. There is a streamlined array of slots, but it has been curated carefully, with an exciting mix of classic slots, quirky games and new titles.

It would be good to see more table games at this online casino, as it has a smaller blackjack range than some competitors and it would benefit from games like baccarat. Yet if you are a sports bettor that sometimes likes to play at an online casino, you should enjoy the ABC Islands casino sportsbook offering. There are also attractive cash bonus offers for casino players. Once again, they come with stringent rollover requirement stipulations, and you have less choice than the three sportsbook bonus promotions, but you can benefit from higher matched deposits.

Customer Service
You can choose from email, phone and live chat support when requiring customer service at ABCIslands. We tested out all three customer service channels and found the response times to be strong. You can start chatting to a customer service representative instantly via live chat, there are no significant hold times if you call and the service is available on a 24/7 basis. Not all sportsbooks offer 24/7 support, so it is great to see ABCIslands ticking this box.

Overall, we found the ABCIslands customer service team to be very helpful, polite, friendly and efficient. They answered our questions in a clear and concise fashion and the representatives were welcoming and approachable. Live chat is the best way to access customer service at ABC Islands. The site promises to respond to e-mail requests within a 48-hour period, but most bettors would prefer to receive a far swifter reply.

Reputation
ABCIslands is an above average sportsbook that deserves a B in the SBR rating guide. If you are based in the European Union, you might prefer to use a European-facing book that covers a broader range of sports, but American sports fans are very well catered to. You will not find every bet type covered, but it does offer a number of props on major sporting events. A major downside is the need for such punitive rollover requirement terms when you bet ABC Islands, but that should not be a problem for regular bettors.

The site is well laid out, with a helpful menu bar and a strong, uncluttered design. It could benefit from a greater level of educational information, as that might help you find a new bet type or sporting event that interests you, but experienced bettors will enjoy the simple design. The order of the ABC Islands sportsbook site is effective, and it will appeal to casual and sharp bettors alike thanks to its low minimum bets and high maximum stakes. The lack of banking options will be a problem for certain players, but if you have embraced the crypto revolution you will be well catered to.

The ABCIslands sportsbook has suffered some reputational damage in the past. It is one of three famous sportsbook websites in a bigger group, along with Jazz Sports and LooseLines, and Jazz Sports has had several complaints in the past. SBR has had to intervene and help players receive the money that they are owed. The process took several years, but we must say that the firm has cleaned up its act now. Some players may feel that ABCIslands is tarnished by its association with Jazz Sports, but we have not had to deal with any complaints regarding ABCIslands or its sister sites recently.

You should now be able to bet with ABCIslands sportsbook, safe in the knowledge that you will be treated fairly and paid out on time. If you can overlook the lack of banking options and the rollover requirement stipulations, you will find a solid, innovative sportsbook that is constantly improving, with competitive odds, strong market coverage and excellent customer support.

Sportsbook scam alert 2012: Don't be a victim!

The beginning of a new football season brings plenty of opportunities to win cash. What it also brings is an assortment of betting sites that have no ability to pay players. Players are targeted with glossy pamphlets, coasters, cigars, even bottles of fine brandy; what a player must do is his or her homework. Not everyone sending a care package to your doorstep has the best intentions.

JazzSports withdrawal feedback wanted

A JazzSports (SBR rating C) player reports a payment complaint. The player tells SBR that he maintains a $16,000 balance and was last paid $1,000 via bank wire in November. He claims that he has not been given a date on when he can expect to receive his next payout. SBR is following up with Jazz to discuss this dispute.

The entire Jazz Sportsbook Group family, which consists of Jazz, LooseLines, and ABC Islands was downgraded to C on June 1st for the inability to process large payouts in a timely manner. Players with payment complaints from the Jazz family are asked to submit sportsbook complaint forms.

Jazz Sports player details frustrating withdrawal experience

A JazzSports (SBR rating C) player has written to SBR explaining his disappointment with the handling of his bank wire payout from Jazz. In June of 2010 he requested a $4917 payment via bank wire. The player opted not to choose Moneybookers as his withdrawal method due to Jazz’s admission that they were allegedly waiting for a wire to replenish their Moneybookers account. Thinking he was selecting a more expedient method, he requested the bank wire; and has yet to receive payment. SBR is investigating the payment complaint on behalf of the player. The entire Jazz Sportsbook Group family, which consists of Jazz, LooseLines, and ABC Islands was downgraded to C on June 1st for the inability to process large payouts in a timely manner.

ABC Islands player reports partial payments

An ABC Islands (SBR rating C) player with a total balance of $16,000 reports receiving partial payments. After discussing his account status last Friday with the sportsbook and being informed he could not be sent a $5,000 payment at once, he agreed to accept partial payments of $500 a day via Western Union. ABC Islands sent the player $500 4 days in a row with a fee of $69 per transaction. The Jazz Sportsbook Group was downgraded to C on June 1st for falling behind on payouts and inefficient eWallet service.
