Our best sports betting sites have the Las Vegas Aces as consensus favorites by the 2024 WNBA championship odds after the first week of the season.

After one of the best seasons in WNBA history, the Las Vegas Aces entered this season as the clear favorites across our best sportsbooks to win a third consecutive title. That remains the case a week later - but the gap is narrowing.

The Aces still own the shortest WNBA odds after the first week of the season, dealing as short as -105 to pull off the second "three-peat" in league history. Right behind them are the New York Liberty, whom they beat in the 2023 WNBA Finals.

Those two are led by two of the WNBA MVP odds favorites in A'ja Wilson (Aces) and Breanna Stewart (Liberty), while fellow MVP contenders Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun) and Jewell Loyd (Seattle Storm) lead the way for the next two choices in the title market.

Of course, all eyes are on the Indiana Fever and No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark, who have gotten off to a tough start this season but remain popular bets in the futures market. For more ways to bet the Fever star throughout her rookie season, check out our Caitlin Clark odds and prop bets.

After the first week of the season, here are the latest 2024 WNBA championship betting odds, with a look at the favorites and past winners:

Favorites to win 2024 WNBA championship

Las Vegas Aces (+110 via FanDuel)

It's not like the Aces have done anything to lose their perch atop the league. They're undefeated entering Tuesday and remain the clear favorites with odds as short as -105, which implies a 51.22% chance that they make history with a third straight title, per our odds converter.

The early returns haven't been inspiring, though. Las Vegas has won by a combined 16 points against the Phoenix Mercury and Los Angeles Sparks - two lesser teams in our latest WNBA power rankings - and their defense hasn't been as otherworldly as it was in 2023.

That's why we've seen two of our five best sports betting apps lengthen the Aces' odds after the first week. It might be worth buying the "dip" (if you can call it one) on the team that led the WNBA in offensive and defensive rating in 2023.

New York Liberty (+230 via Caesars)

The Liberty are the first team to reach four wins after a perfect start to the season, and our best live betting sites are buying the hot start for last year's finalists.

This group made the biggest statement of the season so far with a 102-66 win over Indiana in Clark's home debut, and they've now won three straight by double digits after a puzzling five-point win over the Washington Mystics to open the year.

With Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones, and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton all scoring in double figures, this is a tough team to stop on a nightly basis. If they can maintain this defensive intensity, too, this really could be the year for New York.

Seattle Storm (+2000 via DraftKings)

This is a situation where buying the dip might actually apply, as the Storm were dealing at 14/1 or shorter across the market entering the season.

Sure, they've gotten off to a 1-3 start since, but Nneka Ogwumike has missed two straight with an ankle injury and star guards Jewell Loyd and Skylar Diggins-Smith haven't looked comfortable so far. That's to be expected with a group that had never played a competitive game together until last week.

We said this entering the season, and it remains true now: "It could take some time for the on-court chemistry to take shape for Noelle Quinn's group. Once it does? Watch out."

Indiana Fever (+4000 via Caesars)

So that wasn't exactly the start that casual fans were expecting, huh?

After entering the season with 25/1 odds to win it all, the Fever are (appropriately) priced in the mid-tier of teams after an 0-4 start to the season and a rough week for Clark, the No. 1 pick whom some believe could go down as the greatest WNBA player of all time.

That day isn't today, though, and the former Iowa Hawkeyes star isn't yet capable of leading a team to the promised land on her own. If she can form some on-court chemistry with fellow top pick Aliyah Boston, though, I don't hate these long-shot odds on a team that we know has raw talent and upside.

Understanding WNBA Championship odds

When looking at WNBA title odds, it's important to note that the team that is "most likely" to win will have the shortest odds, i.e. the smaller number attached to their name.

For example, the Las Vegas Aces are an overwhelming favorite with odds between -105 and +110. The -105 odds imply a 51.22% probability Las Vegas wins it all, but the +110 odds are a better value with a $10 bet leading to a $9.09 profit.

The longer the odds are, the bigger the profit they'll return if the bet hits. With the Indiana Fever's +4000 odds, for example, a $10 bet on Indiana to win the championship would result in a $400 profit if Caitlin Clark leads the Fever to the title.

While most books use American odds (like we have), some prefer decimal odds. In that case, you can use our odds converter to see them in the American style.
