2024 ACC Championship Odds: Florida State, Clemson Open as Favorites
Florida State and Clemson have combined to win 12 of the last 13 ACC titles and opened as the favorites by the 2024 ACC Championship odds from our best college football betting sites.
Since 2011, Clemson and Florida State have combined to win every ACC Championship except for one (Pittsburgh in 2021). That trend is expected to continue for the 2024-25 season with the Tigers and Seminoles opening as the favorites to win the conference.
Florida State will be seeking revenge after being a playoff snub last year, despite going undefeated in the regular season. Fittingly, the Seminoles opened with the shortest college football playoff odds of any team in the ACC.
Their biggest competition comes from Clemson, who is right there with Florida State by the college football championship odds as Dabo Swinney attempts to return the Tigers to glory.
While FSU and Clemson are the favorites, it's Miami who has made the biggest headlines in the conference this offseason with its additions through the transfer portal. Chief among them is QB Cam Ward, a Heisman Trophy odds contender.
Here is our look at the 2024 ACC championship odds (odds via our best college football betting sites).

Favorites to win 2024 ACC Championship
Clemson (+290 via DraftKings)
After leading Clemson to four College Football Playoff national championship appearances in five seasons, questions have arisen about Swinney's ability to get back there. While the Tigers are 40-12 over the last four seasons, they've slipped below the previous standard set and haven't won a meaningful bowl game since 2019.
The expanded playoff couldn't come at a better time for Clemson with it now being impossible for ACC to be snubbed of an appearance. Without a doubt, the Tigers lost major talent to the NFL, but they return a loaded offensive line led by Marcus Tate. He'll be blocking for one of the ACC's top backs in Phil Mafah, and QB Cade Klubnik should only improve in his third season.
To take the ACC Championship crown back from Florida State, though, Clemson will need its defense to step up. It's shaping up to be one of the best in the country with linebacker Barrett Carter positioned to be named an All-American. Maybe more importantly, defensive tackle Peter Woods looks ready to break out as one of the most disruptive players in the country.
Florida State (+320 via Caesars)
It took some time, but Mike Norvell has finally turned Florida State into a consistent threat in the college football playoff race. He's turned the Seminoles around by quietly having one of the best hit rates in the transfer portal of any coach in the country.
Norvell has had to work his portal magic again this offseason with the cornerstones of his 13-1 team from last year off to the NFL. Among the players gone is QB Jordan Travis, who has since been replaced with former Clemson and Oregon State passer DJ Uiagalelei.
With Uiagalelei under center and Alabama transfer Roydell Williams joining Lawrance Toafili and Caziah Holmes at running back, the Seminoles' ground attack could be scary. However, it's the defense that should make it an ACC title threat. Pass rusher Patrick Payton is a contender to go No. 1 by the 2025 NFL Draft odds, and cornerback Fentrell Cypress II is one of the best in the ACC.
Miami (+450 via FanDuel)
The excitement of bringing Mario Cristobal home is starting to wear off in Coral Gables. While the former Oregon head coach has gone just 12-13 in his first two seasons with the Hurricanes, there's still hope that this will be the season he turns it around.
Cristobal is one of the best recruiters in the country, and he used that skill to get Ward out of the portal to be his QB. Ward should be a big upgrade for Miami with the former Washington State and Incarnate Word gunslinger giving the Hurricanes a likely NFL talent throwing to Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George.
Miami became even more interesting when it landed Oregon State transfer Damien Martinez in late April. Martinez ran for 2,167 yards and 16 TDs with the Beavers.

How to bet on the ACC Championship
When looking at the ACC, it's pretty clear which two programs are always in contention with Florida State and Clemson seemingly being a notch above everyone else. It's hard to justify betting on any of the other teams to win the ACC with the recent history, but in the NIL and transfer portal era, anything can happen.
The best way to decide which team to bet on is to consider returning production, QB and coaching continuity, and which teams added the most via the portal. A sleeper to watch may be Virginia Tech, with the Hokies bringing back star QB Kyron Drones and ranking No. 1 in returning production as head coach Brent Pry enters his third season.
Unlike the other three Power Four conferences, the ACC's expansion isn't expected to have much impact on the teams at the top. The ACC added just SMU, Stanford, and California to the conference, and while the Mustangs are talented, the jump from the Group of Five to a Power Four is a major one.
