While injuries and last minute changes seem to be getting most of the attention, lets look at the actual fights scheduled to go down in the upcoming UFC 170.

If you're like me you're crossing your fingers & knocking on wood that neither Sara McMann (7-0 in MMA, 1-0 in UFC) or Ronda Rousey (8-0 in MMA, 2-0 in UFC) get hurt this week, or else UFC 170 could become a twin of UFC 151. This has been an injury-ravaged show that has seen multiple fights canceled, causing a major re-shuffling of the event card listing and match making. Let's talk about the actual fights for this upcoming event. Ronda Rousey defends her UFC women's bantamweight title against Olympic medalist Sara McMann, while Daniel Cormier's (13-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) Light Heavyweight debut at 205 lbs comes against Pat Cummins (4-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who is stepping in on very short notice on behalf of Rashad Evans who became injured shortly prior to UFC 170.

Share your thoughts on the UFC 170: Rousey vs. McMann card.

This bout has been seemingly flying under the radar for a while and this is why.

I don't see this card being heavily advertised & promoted as prior event were. Do you feel it is because two woman are the featured in the main event? Is Ronda Rousey coming into this fight over confident due to all the success she has had because she has been able to run through her competition? With Sara McMann being an Olympic wrestler does this give her an edge that no one else has had against Ronda Rousey?

Daniel Cormier only had two fights in the UFC but against heavy weight contenders Roy Nelson and Former UFC Champion Frank Mir winning both fights in lack luster fashion by unanimous decision. Pat Cummings is making his UFC debut and stated during a recent interview how he had Cormier "CRY" during a previous wrestling match. Is this real or is Cummings just trying to get his name out there for his 15 mins of fame? Does Patrick Cummings really have a chance to win or will Daniel Cormier outright detroy & embarrass him at this event.

This is a welterweight bout between Rory MacDonald (15-2 in MMA, 6-2 in UFC) and Demian Maia (18-5 in MMA, 12-5 in UFC) which lacks star power. MacDonald looked to get exposed in his last bout against Robbie Lawler dropping a split decision. Will this be the comeback fight or his career to prove he is a title contender or will Damian Mia be the one that put MacDonald on a 2 fight losing streak due to his resurgence at welterweight.

If you're in for a good slugfest, Stephen Thompson (3-1 in the UFC with 2 KO wins) and Robert Whittaker (2-1 in the UFC with 1 KO win) are on the main card to get everyone excited to see a knockout. Both of these fighters come into this fight with a combined 9 career knockout victories. Does this fight end in a knockout or will this go to a decision?

Here's a look at the entire fight card for Saturday February 22nd from Las Vegas. There will be more breakdowns and information on more fighters for this card leading up to fight night.

This is the final free event that will be on UFC fight Pass prior to having to pay for a subscription monthly.
