Why Sports Bettors are in love with Bitcoin

Online sports bettors looking to take part in the NCAA tournament madness and wager with sports betting sites may want to give bitcoin (BTC) a serious look.

The digital currency allows sports gamblers to easily and cheaply fund sports betting accounts without having to pay costly fees, making bitcoin the closest thing to an eWallet some markets can enjoy.

For example, Canadians are no longer able to use Skrill when making transactions to online sportsbooks.

This limitation does not apply to bitcoin, which is for now an unregulated digital currency which has taken the world by storm; there have been bitcoin ATMs created worldwide and investor interest from all countries.

Sportsbook Review has covered bitcoin extensively as it pertains to the sports gaming sector, and recently conducted a four part bitcoin webinar aimed at educating bettors on how to use bitcoin for deposits and withdrawals, and what the risks and rewards are of a sometimes volatile digital currency.

Below is the recent swings in value of bitcoin over the previous month. The data is supplied by Coindesk.com.
