Update to Netbet Sportsbook complaint over deleted account
SBR reported yesterday that a Netbet Sportsbook (SBR rating C-) player claimed that his account was deleted.
He said that shortly after making his €100 deposit that the online sportsbook erased his account without word. Sportsbook Review has since spoken with Netbet support concerning the complaint and has a new set of facts.
Netbet management advised the player that his account was temporarily suspended. The reason for the suspension was in fact explained, according to the statement provided by the sportsbook rep: The player has not submitted copies of his ID, utility bill, or bank statement.
Netbet is attempting to verify the player's account to satisfy their Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. Players who deposit to online sportsbooks in 2014 and beyond should expect to have to send over personally identifying information; it is a standard procedure and required by gaming regulators.
Sportsbook Review has advised the player who filed the complaint to complete the KYC process. Should the player be unwilling or unable, SBR will inquire on if the initial deposit will be refunded to the original payment method.
Netbet players in need of assistance should submit a sportsbook complaint form.
