Tipico Sportsbook shuts player down without providing a reason
A Tipico Sportsbook player has filed a complaint with SBR against the betting site.
The player claims to have found success betting with Tipico, winning five consecutive wagers before noticing that he could no longer log-in to his account.
He quickly discovered his account had been deactivated, prompting him to contact customer service. After contacting Tipico support, he was informed he had to send his ID, a photo of himself holding the ID, and a utility bill.
The player sent the requested files, but the response to his doing so was that his account would be permanently closed and the balance forfeited. The player held €1,115 with Tipico and is demanding that he be paid.
No specific reason was given to the player for the account closure.
Sportsbook Review is following up with Tipico to speak about the decision to shut the player down and to inquire on the funds confiscation. An online sportsbook must have clear and irrefutable evidence of outright fraud to simply not pay a player's balance on accepted bets.
Tipico is licensed by the Lotteries & Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta.
