Tipico Sportsbook closes winning account after bonus score
A Tipico Sportsbook player has submitted a wagering complaint.
The player signed up for Tipico two days ago and deposited €100 in exchange for a 100% welcome bonus. His deposit method was Skrill.
He wagered three times on Saturday for €200 each and went 3-0, increasing his balance to €880. As he completed the wagering requirements of the bonus, he then asked for his first ever payout from the online sportsbook.
He was asked to provide standard ID documents -- a copy of his passport and utility bill -- to complete the Tipico Know Your Customer (KYC) process. After providing the documents, Tipico closed the player's account.
The player presently has no access to his €880 balance and has filed a sportsbook complaint with SBR seeking assistance.
He claims to have been in full compliance with the bonus promotion terms, and only has one account with the online sportsbook.
Tipico sports bettors with feedback or who are in need of assistance can submit a sportsbook complaint form.
It is not unusual for online sportsbooks to close accounts of players considered to be profitable --- in fact the joke on the SBR Industry Forum is that this is the "European way" -- but sportsbooks most honor legitimately earned balances. To confiscate winnings without clear and compelling evidence of fraud would amount to theft.
