Smarkets Player Seeks Assistance with Betting Exchange
An Smarkets Betting Exchange (SBR rating C) player has filed a complaint against the sports betting website.
The player deposited $20 to his account on May 12 and won $75.
The player provided a scanned copy of his passport and documents but waited for over a month until the betting exchange finally blocked his account and claimed he would not be paid.
Smarkets is licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and has a physical office in the United Kingdom.
SBR has followed up with the betting exchange to inquire on why the player had his account closed, and why he has not received his initial deposit back. Even when sportsbooks believe a player is guilty of some type of fraud, the industry standard is that deposits are returned.
SBR will update this report.
