Round 2 NCAA Tournament Betting Markets Rundown

Opening round of the NCAA tournament concluded with day 2 holding a little more to form than the madness that was day one.  While online sportsbook bettors had to sweat several close games decided late in the second half, there were no major upsets to match the UABs and Georgia States of opening day.

13 lined games are scheduled to tip off today in the men's college basketball tournaments(8 NCAA tourney, 1 NIT, and 4 CIT), with the main attraction NCAA tourney action tipping off at 12:10pm ET as a pair of double digit seeds face off as the 14 seed UAB Blazers take on the 11 seed UCLA Bruins.

Oddsmakers set the opening line at UCLA -7 with the total at 130 but the favorite Bruins have been bet down from the opener of -7 to the current consensus line of -6 per SBR Odds. Some international bettors can even find -5.5 at online betting site Pinnacle.  While the favorite has been bet down from the opener the total has been bet up as the opening total of 130 is now sitting at a current consensus number of 133.  The moneyline currently sits in a range of -235 up to -270, highlighting the importance of line-shopping.

Biggest Underdog of the Day
The biggest underdog of the day is 8 seed Cincinnati Bearcats facing the tourneys overall number 1 seed in the Kentucky Wildcats.  Kentucky opened up as a huge -18.5 point favorite versus the Bearcats but were quickly bet down to the current number which is -16.5. The large spread also correlates to a large moneyline as it primarily resides somewhere in the low -2000 range, meaning a $2,000 bet is needed to win just $100.

Highest Total of the Day
The highest total of the day brings us to an SEC vs ACC matchup as the Arkansas Razorbacks take on the North Carolina Tarheels.  The total opened up at 165 but has taken a pretty substantial move downward and currently sits at a consensus of 157. Sports bettors who have done their homework know the reason for the high total is that UNC averages approx 78 points per game, with Arkansas averaging almost 77 points per game.

Biggest Pointspread Move of Day
The Kentucky Wildcats opened as a -18.5 point favorite and as previously mentioned were quickly bet down to -16.5 favorites.  SBR Odds currently shows a fairly even split on percentages as 53% of bettors are taking the Bearcats while 47% are backing the Wildcats.  The second biggest mover thus far is the matchup of UCLA versus UAB which has moved 1.5 points at Pinnacle from an opener of -7 to its current position of -5.5 (-113).
