Romanian Unibet player asks for Skrill payment exception
A Unibet Sportsbook (SBR rating C+) player has filed a complaint with SBR.
The player has been a Unibet customer for seven years. He wagered with Unibet daily until last year when his wagering limit was lowered.
He had last funded his account using Skrill and has a balance of €621.48. Unibet no longer allows players in his country of residence to use Skrill, but does offer Skrill as an option for other players.
The player was told that his only option to be paid is bank transfer, but this solution does not work for him because he would have to be paid in EUR and pay currency conversion fees and in addition would have tax obligations.
He has requested that Unibet make an exception to pay his withdrawal through Skrill since he deposited that way. Unibet is under no obligation to honor the payout through Skrill, but should process the payout through a method with an equivalent fee as Skrill would have offered, since the book generally processes payouts back to the original source of deposit, and this player no longer has this option through no fault of his own.
Romanian players can use the sportsbook rating guide to find a list of online sportsbooks accepting Skrill.
Sportsbook Review reported on a Unibet bonus dispute on September 3. A player believed that he should have received a €5 free bet per a bonus promotion he accepted. Unibet management has yet to provide comment on the dispute.
