Report: PokerStars parent company to launch sportsbook Betstars
The parent company of PokerStars, the world's biggest online poker room, will soon launch a full-fledged online sportsbook under the name BetStars.com.
Amaya Inc.also acquired several other domain names, including betstars.net and various other extensions such as .eu/.de/.cricket/.football and more.
According to GamblingInvest.com, who was first to run the story, Amaya paid $10,000 for Betstars.net earlier this week. The domain was registered through French domain registrar IP Twins.
As of this publication the Betstars domains are presently off-line while a date is being formed for the initial launch of the sportsbook.
BetStars.com was previously owned by Wilsonbet, a sports wagering operator from the ISle of Man. Last summer, WilsonBet took its business off-line to focus on the telephone sports business, and placed its domain on the market. There is speculation however at GamblingInvest that Amaya put this in motion.
Sportsbook Review will keep readers updated and report back when Betstars opens for business.
