NordicBet Player Seeks Assistance After Account Closure
A NordicBet Sportsbook (SBR rating C+) player has filed a complaint.
The player claims that his account was recently closed by the online sportsbook and his €220 balance seized.
He was told that he had breached the terms and conditions of the sportsbook but given no specific details on what his violation was. Even if the sportsbook had just cause to close his account, he at the very least would be entitled to receive a refund of his deposit.
Traditionally when betting sites close a player's account the infraction would be shared with the individual, which gives the player some level of recourse as if the sportsbook is mistaken, the player can contest the decision, and if the two sides disagree it provides context for the player to escalate the matter to the sportsbook gaming license issuer.
In this case, NordicBet is licensed to operate by the Malta Gaming Authority under license number C-34836. NordicBet's website is operated by BML Group Ltd. SBR reported in 2012 that NordicBet's business was acquired by the Betsson Group.
Sportsbook Review has asked NordicBet for comment on the player's violation. NordicBet players who are in need of sportsbook assistance are encouraged to submit a complaint form. SBR will update as more information related to this case becomes available.
