Marathonbet player has account closed after winning in-play bet
A Marathonbet Sportsbook (SBR rating B-) player has filed a complaint with SBR.
The player also blogged his feedback on the SBR Sportsbook & Industry section, detailing that his account is presently locked after a €1360 wager on a football match between FSV Frankfurt and RB Leipzig. The player's wager was on the under 2.5 goals.
Following the settlement of the match, the player requested a payout from Marathonbet. After 3 days, he was asked to send copies of his ID. The payout request then laid dormant for 45 days, until the player reports that his account winnings were confiscated and only his starting deposit refunded.
Sportsbook Review recently downgraded Marathonbet following a series of complaints from users involving confiscated winnings.
SBR spoke with Marathonbet for one hour earlier today concerning the cases. SBR agreed not to divulge internal security mechanisms that contributed to six recent complaints registered by users. In each of the complaints, Marathonbet submitted that the players violated terms and conditions and produced documents unsatisfactory to pass the KYC process.
Marathonbet agreed to abide by all verdicts reached by their gaming license providers should the players pursue additional recourse. Marathonbet has a master gaming license in Curacao for their .com website and is licensed by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission for their .co.uk website.
Marathonbet players with feedback or complaints should write to SBR at firstname.lastname@example.org.
