Marathonbet comments on pro betting confiscation report
Sportsbook Review reported on December 1st that Marathonbet allegedly confiscated $1,000 in winnings citing professional betting.
SBR has since spoken with Marathonbet concerning the player's complaint and was told that the betting site believes that the player's ID was forged.
The player must now launch his complaint with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). He has denied submitting false documents and maintains that his winnings were confiscated after he had shown a consistent pattern of winnings. The player has been paid in the past without incident from Marathonbet.
Marathonbet could not delve into specifics on how it determined the ID was fraudulent, but has claimed that they are fully willing to address the case with the AGCC should the player escalate his complaint through official channels.
At this point, that is the player's only option.
Marathonbet was downgraded from B to B- on November 16. Since that time, SBR held an hour long conference call with an executive of the betting site to go over the procedure the sportsbook takes whenever it confiscates funds and refunds deposits.
