HitItBet donating players' winnings to charity....again?
HitItBet Sportsbook (SBR rating C+) has once again made the SBR newswire after a player produced an email showing that the sportsbook intends to donate his account balance to charity. And it's not the first such accusation. Back in July, SBR reported that HitItBet Sportsbook agreed to abolish the bizarre rule. It appears the policy has made a comeback.
HitItBet's old rule read that any player who failed to within two months verify their identity would be subject to the loss of their entire account balance — the balance would then be submitted to charity. The sportsbook agreed to get rid of this rule after a discussion with SBR staff.
However, a player has filed a sportsbook complaint indicating that he was accused of "gross misconduct and disregard for rules and regulations...", and that as a result of his activities his balance of €1,579 will be donated to charity.
HitItBet's full email to player:
"Please be advised that your HitItBet.com account has been closed for gross misconduct and disregard for the rules and regulations outlined in HitItBet.com policies. Your account has been closed and you are no longer permitted to make further deposits, wagers, withdrawals or open a new account with www.HitItBet.com
The proceeds of your account will be donated to charity.
We have informed our regulator, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission of the status of your account and our actions."
SBR has followed up with the sportsbook on the case.
