Favbet Sportsbook releases statement on downtime

Online sportsbook Favbet released a statement concerning the five days of downtime that SBR reported on last week.

Players took Favbet to task at the SBR posting forum during the period of downtime and shared concerns over the status of their balances, and the lack of communicated information from the online sportsbook.

Favbet has since reached out and provided an explanation: the sportsbook claims that their system was targeted by hackers beginning on Christmas day, December 25, and that aside from the downtime, player balances remain secure and were unaffected.

Further, Favbet claims that it was necessary to disable the website during this time that they warded off the attack.

Favbet Sportsbook: "First of all we are wishing you Happy New Year with the hope that you will have many blessings in the year to come! Secondly, we would like to apologize for malfunction of www.favbet.com and affiliates.favbet.com. . Our system has been heavily attacked by hackers on 25th of December, 2015. At this point we would like to ensure you that personal information and account balances of our players and affiliates remain unharmed and protected. Unfortunately, in order to keep safe our clients and partners information we forced to shut down our website for some days. Our services are back and soon affiliates.favbet.com will be live again with all the information untouched. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience."
