Dogs Bark NFL Sunday to Delight of Sharp Bettors

The dogs barked Sunday in the NFL to the delight of sharp sports bettors who typically fade the "public consensus". High profile teams are usually wagered on most though the semi-pros will often outweigh the public opinion in terms of actual volume.

Three games where the public opinion was most lopsided all went the sharp bettors' way with the Titans, Cowboys, and Seahawks winning outright as underdogs.

The below wagering data is powered by the NFL Betting Odds grid.

Green Bay Packers vs. Tennessee Titans
The action settled with 65% of bets on the Packers to cover the spread of -3. 67% of bets were placed on the Packers to win the game outright. The Titans routed Green Bay by a final score of 47-25 and jumped out to a first quarter lead of 21-0.

The game sailed over the posted total of 48.5 with the Titans a point away from hitting that mark alone. 54% of bettors cashed on this outcome.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Dallas was offered at +3 and received 56% of bets to cover the spread. The money line betting market saw the Steelers receive 53% of bets. The Cowboys won 35-30 in a game with seven lead changes.

Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots
The Patriots have been a money making machine all year for most bettors and a thorn in the side of those who like to bet the least popular side; that was not the case Sunday night as the Seahawks won outright 31-24. 58% of bets were on the Patriots to win at money line odds of -350 and 58% to cover the spread of -7.5.
