BetWay Sportsbook addresses bonus disputes
SBR has spoken with Betway (SBR rating D) regarding the report published Thursday. One player claimed that he was told that £700 in bonus winnings would be confiscated in accordance with the controversial "30% rule" cited in past disputes. This was significant as Betway claimed that after the string of SBR cases the rule was discontinued.
Betway claims that in fact both players came in for a free, no deposit £10 casino bonus - the same bonus advertised on certain television networks across the UK. The terms of the offer clearly stipulated that a max £100 redemption was possible.
Each of the two players continued to bet with the free bonus in excess of the £100 cap. Betway.com clarifies that it was the additional amount that was confiscated from the players.
The players could have simply chosen to withdraw the £100 and redeposit it, but opted to continue playing to attempt to continue their good run in spite of the clear fine-print disallowing them from doing so.
SBR considers these bonus dispute cases closed.
BetWay was removed from the scam sportsbook blacklist after modifying their bonus promotion terms and after a sufficient period of time with little complaints.
