BetVictor betting dispute, SBR Industry News video
Sportsbook Review.com provides an SBR Industry News video update for Tuesday, April 23d, 2013. Discussed today is a BetVictor (SBR rating B) betting dispute involving a punter who had a 4/1 winning prop bet voided as he placed it after a player's trade team was initially reported by news outlets. The player suggests he is being penalised for the BetVictor staff falling asleep at the wheel.
The BetVictor (VictorChandler) player wagered on the popular young football player Mario Gotze to transfer to Bayern. The trading department informed him that as he had bet after the news broke, his transaction was invalid.
Sportsbooks with proper licenses in regulated jurisdictions such as BetVictor often do not consider precedent when ruling in matters like these. If in fact the bet was made before the trade was officially confirmed, or if the news outlets misreported the agreement or trade talks fell through, his funds would still have been at risk in this unique prop market. If SBR is unable to resolve the claim in his favour through BetVictor support, the player's next step would be launching his complaint with BetVictor’s gaming licensor.
SBR interviewed Victor Chandler himself in May of 2012.
SBR will update this report.
