Betfair player advised to contact Malta Gaming Authority
A Betfair player has submitted a complaint.
The player accepted a starting bonus with the betting exchange and sportsbook and by the time he completed his rollover requirement his balance held approximately €1,000.
At this point, the player ordered and successfully received a €250 withdrawal via Skrill.
After putting in a second withdrawal request, the player's account was locked by Betfair. He was asked to provide his ID and proof of address, which he sent, and was then asked to send a photograph of himself holding the ID, which he also sent.
Betfair then stated that to complete their review they had to have a phone call with the player. He waited for about a week to receive the call and was told that they reserve the right to close any betting account they suspect has acted fraudulently. The player's balance was then confiscated in full.
SBR has advised the player to submit a complaint with the Malta Gaming Authority.
