Betfair passes on renewing Blue Square football sponsorship
On April 2nd, SBR reported that Betfair (SBR rating A-) acquired Blue Square Bet online (SBR rating B+) for £5 million. Blue Square players were redirected to their new accounts at Betfair. More than 120,000 new customers were acquired in the deal, as well as brand assets. Betfair has since made one of their first brand related decisions.
Betfair has announced that it is passing on renewing Blue Square's sponsorship of the Football Conference. The deal expires at the end of this season. Betfair will honour the duration of the deal.
