BetAtHome exits Portugal market & €13K dispute remains
BetAtHome Sportsbook (SBR rating C-) has closed all services to Portugal account holders.
BetAtHome: "Due to changes in legislation, bet-at-home.com is no longer available to customers in Portugal. Your account and the information regarding the same will be managed by our partner Betclic - world leader in online gaming service"
Although player information was reportedly transferred to online sportsbook BetClic, one player has written in to Sportsbook Review to suggest that is not the case.
In addition, the news has stung one Portugal based player who believes he was hosed by the betting site intentionally.
The player had accumulated a balance of €13,000 after wagering €1,000 or more across several football bets. The player had his account closed after requesting a €5,000 payout.
As reported by SBR previously, the player maintained that he was in full compliance with BetAtHome's terms and conditions and had sent clear copies of his ID to satisfy the betting sites KYC process. Unfortunately for the player, he was told that his account would remain closed and winnings forfeited, with no further correspondence from customer support.
BetAtHome has not commented on the dispute.
SBR is attempting to speak with BetAtHome on this issue.
BetAtHome players - based in Portugal or elsewhere - in need of assistance should submit a sportsbook complaint form.
