laspalmas, Ehorse, BetCanadian players confirm payment
Players at laspalmas, eHorse, and BetCanadian have confirmed payment. On 12/27 SBR broke the news that the aforementioned Horizon Twenty brands were acquired by Bookmaker.com (SBR rating A+). SBR readers that had filed complaints last year against the laspalmas Group and its sister sportsbooks have confirmed over $54,000 in payments since the acquisition. Bookmaker's financial security provides security to the laspalmas brands. laspalmas, eHorse, and BetCanadian have been upgraded to the mark of B.

Player:
Just to let you know, all the money I had requested from ehorse has been paid. I have a small balance remaining at the site but the $18000 that was requested about 4 months back has now been fully received by bank wire.

Bookmaker.com Group Acquires laspalmas
Bookmaker (SBR rating A+) CEO Mickey Richardson tells SBR that the acquisition of Las Palmas (SBR rating B) and sister sportsbooks has been completed. Las Palmas and its parent company Horizon20 have been a successful brand since 2001 through 2008. At the start of 2009 some players experienced payout delays and SBR readers reported over $120,000 in delinquent payout requests. Those players have already began receiving their funds and are now able to make additional withdrawal requests. Bookmaker also tells SBR that it will keep the brands, which it now fully owns, and bring them to the level of service players expect from a Bookmaker/BetCRIS product. Las Palmas' SBR rating peaked at B in 2008 before its players first reported negative feedback. Bookmaker has acquired many brands that have needed aid over the years. | Full Press Release: Bookmaker announces acquisition of Las Palmas.

laspalmas update
SBR's last laspalmas (SBR rating D) update on November 4th stated that a player was paid his balance after a seven month delay. No new payments have been reported since that time; laspalmas owes eight players $110,400. Of that eight players, one player is waiting for $33,000 which was requested in February 2009. The player has informed SBR as of Sunday November 15th that he still has yet to receive his funds. laspalmas will not discuss the status of payouts with SBR.

laspalmas slowpays update
laspalmas (SBR rating D) owes 8 players $110,400 according to complaints filed with SBR. The amounts requested range back to January of 2009. laspalmas payments have been erratic, players that have what are considered to be manageable balances are paid ahead of those who have waited for months longer.

An SBRforum reader reported last week that laspalmas solicited him for a 100% signup bonus. Any such offer should raise a red flag to any industry player. SBR advises those who maintain balances at any of the sportsbooks in the Horizon 20 family which includes eHorse and eHorse-X to cease wagering activity until laspalmas can document that it can pay balances on time and not months after the fact.

laspalmas update: $129,660 now owed to players
It has been nearly a month since the last laspalmas (SBR rating D) update. laspalmas has not changed its stance toward blocking off communication with SBR, as there has been no update or end to the slowpays in sight. A new complaint has been received from a player that requested $6,660 on August 1st. The player has received conflicting answers from laspalmas staff, and was ultimately delayed another "week or two". This brings the total funds owed to players since January of 2009 up to $129,660.

laspalmas player reports payment
On August 10th SBR reported that a laspalmas (SBR rating D+) player was owed $979 since July 6th. The player received a check for the full amount this week. laspalmas has claimed that it processes payouts in the order received yet several players are still owed from as early as February of this year. The biggest payment owed to date by laspalmas is to one player in the amount of $34,439.45. laspalmas owes players over $123,000.

laspalmas update
New laspalmas (SBR Rating D+) player reports $979 slow-pay, waiting since July 6th. Las Palmas initially told the player to expect his funds within 21 business days while over $124,000 in back payments are pending with other bettors. After 24 days had passed laspalmas tells the player he would have to wait at least another 10 business days. No significant payments to SBR readers have been documented in weeks. | laspalmas slow-pay report

laspalmas slow-pays continue; players owed over $124,000
laspalmas (SBR rating D+) players report being owed over $124,000. The slow-pays began in January of 2009. laspalmas stated they had processor problems in February after multiple payout complaints surfaced. Players were assured things were fine and told they could expect to receive funds at the beginning of March. At the start of March a few players were sent small payments, but large balance holders were left to wait and continued to be fed generic email responses. The Las Palmas Group, which includes eHorse and eHorse-X, is no longer willing to discuss player complaints with SBR. The largest payment laspalmas has made this year was via book-to-book transfer of $40,000 on 4/15/09 to a player's Bookmaker.com (SBR rating A+) account. Interbook transfers have since been discontinued as laspalmas payout delays increase. The largest pending payout is more than $34,000 which SBR reported on 6/17/09.

laspalmas closes account for nonrecreational play; player owed $34,439.45 since March 7th, 2009
On March 7th laspalmas (SBR rating D+) closed the account of a player that had a balance of $35,239.45. Las Palmas stated that all of the player’s funds would be wired within 21 business days. After providing the required banking documents on March 10th, the player waited 21 business days for his money. On May 17th, a month past the expected withdrawal date, the player sent an email asking for an update which went unanswered. The player began to call laspalmas every day demanding answers. On June 3rd the player accepted $800 toward his balance via Moneygram.  laspalmas cited problems with bank wires as reason for the continued delay. Las Palmas and the rest of the Horizon 20 Group continue to have problems paying large winners. Players should avoid Las Palmas as they struggle with payment. | Forum Discussion

SBR has verified that other laspalmas players that have been waiting over a month have recently been paid. Verified payments were for lesser amounts in the range of $2,000. SBR has also confirmed a $40,000 payment via book-to-book transfer last month.

eHorse (SBR rating C-) players report payments; large winner waits indefinitely
On March 6th, eHorse, part of the laspalmas Group (SBR rating C-), states the player's withdrawal will be processed in two weeks. On March 16th, ehorse stated the player will not have his $40,000 withdrawal as he was initially told. The player is told payment will be delayed until "early April". eHorse concedes that the size of his winnings is playing a role in his place in the queue. Both SBR and the player have asked Las Palmas to show the player good faith and provide a partial withdrawal of the size other players are currently receiving. The player has offered to accept a roll-over following a transfer to Bookmaker.com (SBR rating A+). eHorse declined and alluded to sendng a "partial payment" early next month. The player continues to ask for a portion of his funds to be sent to Bookmaker or via bank wire now and asks for details about how much he will eventually receive and when.

3/10/2009 11:00 PM
Las Palmas (SBR rating C-) tells SBR three players who complained of three month withdrawal delays were paid just under $20,000 yesterday. The sportsbook tells SBR that an additional 25 players were also sent their withdrawals. February payout requests remain pending, however laspalmas and eHorse (SBR rating C-) tell SBR that, though payouts are backlogged, players owed since December and January are now receiving their funds.

2/17/2009 12:05 PM
Las Palmas Sportsbook Group (Horizon 20) states they are unable to pay large balance holders until the first week of March. laspalmas (SBR rating C-) blames the delay on frozen funds that are scheduled to be released from the bank on March 2nd. Some players have requested their funds as much as seven weeks ago. Sister sportsbook BetToucan entered the SBR Rating Guide today at C-.

laspalmas (SBR rating B-) owed player reports receiving moneygram payment with an additional payment scheduled for monday. The low limit method was offered as a short term option to bank wire. The sportsbook states that it is funding its bank wire processor so it will be able to service these large winners. Players requesting smaller sums report receiving payment in normal timeframes.

9/10/2008 11:41 PM
Two laspalmas (SBR rating B-) players report waiting for a total amount of $40,000 originally requested in June and July. The book was unable to offer a reason for delays to these large winners. A third player, who has been using the sportsbook for three years, is waiting for $5,000. He was told that he cannot withdraw his funds for two weeks without paying processing fees and forfeiting a $500 reload bonus. The sportsbook cites a 30 day hold bonus rule that clearly applies only to "new players," as the reason for these conditions.

New player victim to sportsbook impersonator
Player: After hearing about how good Legendz was and that you gave it an A+ rating I decided to join. I went to LegendsSportsbook.com and sent 250 bucks! It wasnt until 2 week later when i tried to get there from SBRlines did i realize they were two different websites! I checked the rating guide and realised a scammer has my money.

Robbie, formerly of defunct Apex Sports (SBR rating F) is operating legendsportsbook.com which has attracted bettors looking for the real Legendz (SBR rating A+). SBR has warned players since 2006 of laspalmasSportsbook.com after readers reported depositing in what they believed to be laspalmas (SBR rating B-). Bettors should also beware of OceanSportsbook (SBR rating F) and AmericasBookie (SBR rating F). Both are part of this network of scam sites.

BetRuss enters the SBR Rating Guide at C-. BetRuss is a new Costa Rican sportsbook using DGS Software and IDSCA server hosting. The sportsbook employs 40 individuals including former managers of Nine.com (SBR rating B+) and Absolute Poker, and line managers formerly with HeritageSports (SBR rating B) and laspalmas (SBR rating B-). BetRuss' startup model is now a rare one as few books will enter the U.S. serving market without the help of a turnkey service provider. Despite the upfront investment by BetRuss, players are advised to wait to see if the book will establish and prove itself before trying. BetRuss has been online for one month; is still working on site glitches; and offers a high cash bonus along with high betting limits which it will unlikely be able to maintain once it begins marketing campaigns. The book's management tells SBR it aims to be a recreational sportsbook excelling in customer service and financial processing options.

SCAM ALERT: Industry scammer continues to trick players into joining sportsbooks. Robbie McPhail is operating LegendSportsbook.com which has attracted bettors looking for the real Legendz (SBR rating A-). SBR warned players in March of Mr. McPhail’s laspalmasSportsbook.com after readers reported depositing in what they believed to be laspalmas (SBR rating C). Bettors should also beware of OceanSportsbook (SBR rating F) and AmericasBookie (SBR rating F). Both are part of this network of scam sites and are spamming email lists offering large bonuses.

SCAM ALERT: Rip-off sportsbook site owned by Robbie McPhail. laspalmasSportsbook.com is designed to con players into believing they are actually playing with five year old sportsbook, laspalmas(SBR rating C) (betlaspalmas.com). SBR Bill Dozer reports: ParlayCardZ, part of the Horizon Twenty Group, slow-paying client $10,000 since 12/22/05. The player initially requested $5,000 via Neteller the morning of 10/22, but was told the merchant account was not funded. ParlayCardZ then took the player’s banking information in order to process a $10,000 bank wire, but has blamed the holidays as the reason the funds have not yet been deducted from the bettor’s account. SBR has contacted management, who claims their bank, Bank of Costa Rica, has been closed since the 23rd and will remain closed until the 2nd, when the wire will be sent. SBR has contacted the bank which was open on the 22nd, 23rd, and from the 26th through today until 6:00 PM. ParlayCardZ remains unable or unwilling to send payment to the customer via Neteller. The sportsbook will be under review while this withdrawal is pending and Neteller issues are addressed. The Horizon Twenty Group, which includes laspalmas, has been downgraded to C.
