SBR Bill Dozer reports: Telebet(SBR rating F-) invests in software upgrades and new website to perpetuate scam. SBR offices still receive weekly calls from players who have been coaxed into depositing with EnglishSportsBetting, which is now branded as Telebet. The sportsbook has purchased customer lists and is aggressively calling players with promotional offers. Many inactive players have reported being offered to "upgrade their account" in order to receive premium bonuses. SBR will continue to post periodic esb warnings.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: EnglishSportsBetting (SBR rating F-) steals $30,000 from player; $2,500 of which was deposited via Western Union. SBR receives many esb complaints each month, but this is the first player to report opening a new account and depositing after the book’s latest claim of being under new ownership. In September esb began branding under the name of their site’s url, Telebet. The bettor made his deposit two weeks ago.

EnglishSportsBetting (SBR rating F-) again making news. The undisputed king of scam sportsbooks has some players wondering if there may be a chance of receiving payment. Management tells TheOffShoreWire that the book, now back in Ireland, will officially be called Telebet and claims that we will see payouts dispersed in October of 2005. TOW recaps the events leading up to esb’s new promises.

EnglishSportsBetting (SBR rating F-) setting up their operation in Jamaica as a telemarketing business. SBR sources reported that esb had contacted past employees from when their fraudulent business was hosted in Jamaica. Unfortunately SBR has confirmed this to be true. With a very poor Jamaican accent, Bill Dozer has made arrangements to pursue a "job interview" in Jamaica on Friday.

A confidential SBR source close to esb(SBR rating F-) writes the following: "The Chamber of Commerce (esb’s landlord in Ireland) has closed down esb. The company was several months behind on its lease payments and faced an ultimatum a few weeks ago to either pay up or leave. I believe that this factor in addition to the complaints by TheOffshoreWire and SBR led the Chambers to shut them out of the building. "

The Final Scam? EnglishSportsBetting (SBR rating F-) has the following message currently displayed on its website, www.Telebet.com:

"Dear Friends,
We are in the process of upgrading our systems. Serving you is important to us and while we are in the process of upgrading our systems, we would appreciate it if you would send your inquires by email to (webmaster@telebet.com).
We do not expect this upgrade to take more than a week to finish. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Thank You,The Staff at Telebet"

In the past esb has not bothered to inform its users of website downtime and players who send money to esb soon realize that the sole purpose of the site is to steal customer deposits. This, combined with the fact that "system upgrades" should take hours and not a week, suggests that this stiff book may be on the move. It is possible that esb is in the process of moving servers to a new location or may finally be closing its doors.

Players reporting getting advertisements from scams attempting to fool players into thinking they are from SBR.
Rule 1) This site, the real SBR, has never sent an email advertisement.
Rule 2) Look for these scams to only recommend one book, their own of course, or books in their family.

Here is partial list of scam sportsbook review type sites:
BetOnSports’s scam review site = www.sportsbookaudit.com ( notice any similarities to the real SBR?)
BetRoyal’s scam review site = www.sportsbookreview.net (familiar website address)
BetUs’s scam review site = www.bestsportsbookreview.com (20+ sites involed in this scam network)
esb’s scam watchdog site = www.LVSN.com

Sites are supposedly run by so-called affiliates or advertisers as a cover-up. In fact, they are either run directly by the book or put a fake affiliate between them. Many also give hosting and ad budgets as well as their email lists further proving their ownership or that they approve and support the scams. BetOnSports reportedly directly buys radio advertising for their scam site.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Beware of fraud watchdog sites like the LVSN Watchdog. LVSN.com recommends players use Scam-Book EnglishSportsBetting (SBR rating F-), while giving tips on how to avoid disreputable sportsbooks. Once the player becomes stranded in esb, LVSN charges victims a fee for help in recovering their funds which they will never see. LVSN is simply an extension of esb’s con game. Both sites share the same IP address.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: The king of Scam-Sportsbooks still attracting new victims. Although players are becoming more knowledgeable about the offshore industry, EnglishSportsBetting (SBR rating F-) continues to perfect the art of the scam. A week rarely passes where SBR is not forced to inform a stressed player that he or she will not be receiving their funds from esb, aka Telebet. The result is often a scarred player who is searching for a way to stop esb from stealing from others.

Player Review: "A warning to all SBR readers and gamers alike. Please stay away from esb! These crooks are still in service. They have owed me over 1500.00 for 2 years. Its amazing these guys are still scamming there way on innocent victims. Dont play cause they wont pay. I will enjoy the day these clowns are closed down once and for all. Lets help ease there inevitable demise."

Recently, bettors have reported depositing with esb after they received a telemarketing call from the company. Others mentioned regretfully sending a friend to esb because of a $100 referral bonus.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Internet1x2 (SBR rating F) earns the most payout complaints in 2004. For most of the year, Internet1x2 was competing with esb (SBR rating F-) for the title of the largest active scam-sportsbook. In November SBR upgraded 1x2 to F in order to reflect the possibility of payment. Many players were paid in full while others received small payments. 1x2 is now back to their old ways as new no-pay complaints emerge with players reporting broken promises of payment. SBR will continue to warn players of these books in 2005.

SBR mailbag: Players report cold holiday season with no-pay sportsbooks. This past week SBR received a flood of slow-pay and no-pay complaints from books that continue to solidify their F ratings. Complaints included: WorldWager (SBR rating F) player reports being stiffed for $2,000; 2WagerSports (SBR rating F) player reports being owed $600 for over 3 weeks while phones have been down; SSP (SBR rating F) player files no-pay complaint claiming that he has been owed over $2,000 since September. Internet1x2 (SBR rating F) in full slow-pay mode once again. After eliminating a large portion of their debt, 1x2 is frustrating players with broken promises of payment. A few players are reporting small sporadic payments. These payments are likely sent out as unsuspecting new players deposit. SBR has also received the weekly batch of no-pay complaints from new victims of scam sportsbook, esb (SBR rating F-). Players who are aware of any sites esb utilizes for marketing purposes are encouraged to contact Bill_Dozer@SportbookReview.com.

SBR mailbag: Sportsbook.com (SBR rating C) now 7 days late on ACH (e-check) payout. Sportsbook.com management is tracking payment. Update 12/2: Player receives payment in full
SportsbookUSA (SBR rating F): Player waiting for withdrawal of $724 since September 3rd. SportsbookUSA tells SBR they will advance the payout request to accounting and claim they do not know why it has yet to be processed. Withdrawal requests continue to be stalled in this book’s system.
Internet1x2 (SBR rating F): Player reports being paid $6,000. Complaints are still being filed but the overall amount of player debt that SBR has on record is slowly decreasing.
Changeabet (SBR rating F-): New complaints coming in from multiple players owed small amounts. Changeabet and their sister sites are currently offline.
Bahismerkezi (not rated) owes player over $16,000 since November 7th. Phone line only offers an answering machine. Bahismerkezi is not responding to emails.
English Sports Betting (SBR rating F-) SBR receives no-pay complaints against esb almost daily. This scam operation owes more players than any other active sportsbook.

9/2/2004 10:57 AM
SBR Scam Alert: Player reports being stiffed for over $3,000 from English Sports Betting (SBR rating F-). Latest victim claims he has been owed over 4 months. esb tells SBR they have not had the funds due to a bad baseball season. Players should avoid esb/Telebet at all costs. This is a notorious deposit-only sportsbook.
5/25/2004 03:19 AM
SBR Bill Dozer reports: SBR inquires about $150 payout request from over one month ago: Telebet/esb (SBR rating F-) replies "We only serve players who bet real money". Telebet once again confirms their status as a scam operation.
