Wsex Sportsbook statementWsex (SBR rating D-) Sportsbook released the following statement concerning the $700,000+ in funds owed to players:
Wsex Sportsbook: I understand you would like to receive your outstanding payments in a swift manner. However, as I have been explaining to all clients, due to the losses we encountered, payments will be done partially for a few more months. Clients who deposited funds with us in the past were all lost due to new gaming /banking laws in the US. It is now our responsibility to bounce back from these losses and pay our clients. We have dedicated staff at World Sports for 10 years and over. Regardless of the fact that you do not receive a withdrawal every month, you will receive something from us not exceeding 3 months. I will keep your name noted to receive a withdrawal by February 2012 for at least a portion of your request. This will be right after the super bowl. We will have a remainder for March, April and so forth. I do anticipate this back log to be completed by the new season of September 2012.
Wsex continues to shift blame for their financial troubles on US banking laws. The sportsbook has withdrawn itself from discussions with SBR. SBR has reports from 129 users owed $747,802. The average amount owed each player is $5,842. Players have been waiting for their funds since as early as October of 2009, making the sportsbook's claim that clients will not wait longer than three months both irresponsible and inaccurate. The last major surge of
Wsex payments came in the fall of 2010, when SBR reported that $124,617 was paid.
Players in need of Wsex sportsbook assistance are asked to fill out a sportsbook

Wsex Sportsbook updateThree
Wsex (SBR rating D-) players report payment. Two players received partial payments ($500 toward $1,100, $700 toward $8,000) from requests made in January and August 2011 respectively. A third player confirmed receivement payment in full ($244) on a payout request dated 8 February 2011.
Wsex player: I wanted to report that after almost one year, Wsex finally paid me the $244 they owed me yesterday by {P2P method}. So, maybe there's hope for the others who are still owed money.
Wsex is still blaming processors and the US banking climate for the extreme delays. The following generic statement was provided to a player that's been waiting since April 2011 for $1,979:
Wsex Sportsbook: "We acknowledge that in a previous conversation, either verbally or written, you were promised every effort to have your entire or part of your withdrawal shipped to you by ending of the year. While the lack of processing companies and US corresponding banks continue to be the dominant factors for our delayed processing, we will continue through out the next few months to accomplish all the clients who were not addressed during the past couple of months.
Every month commencing January 2012, a maximum value of checks as specified by our financial personnel, will be processed. Once a payment is completed for you, an email notification will be sent, allowing you sufficient time to make arrangements for the courier delivery. At this time, I wish to thank you for your continued correspondence and the patience you have extended throughout these challenging times. Our customer support will always be available to address any further queries. Again, I cannot apologize enough for the continued delays and the grave inconvenience caused to you."Wsex is currently slow-paying 123 players $738,852. The longest outstanding request was made in October of 2009.

Wsex complaints have been submitted.
Wsex, the D- rated sportsbook that SBR reported owes more than 110 players, is no longer communicating with SBR.
Wsex' debt to players is $658,578.
Wsex gives only generic updates to players shifting blame onto payment processors for the extreme delays. The debts are as old as October of 2009. The disgraced sportsbook's last major effort to pay players came in the fall of 2010, when SBR reported that $124,617 was paid to players. The
Wsex debt has more than quadrupled since. 115 players have outstanding sportsbook complaints against the blacklisted gaming company.

Wsex slow-pays: 110 players owed $653,542Four new
Wsex (SBR rating D-) slow-pay complaints have been filed. The
Wsex player debt has now surpassed $653,0000. In SBR's last report,
Wsex was continuing to provide generic updates with promises of making good. The disgraced sportsbook has pinned the blame on processors rather than accepted responsibility for the ongoing payout blunders.
Wsex management has again withdrawn from regular updates with SBR dispute analysts. SBR asks all sportsbook players that have not done so to write to
help@sportsbookreview.com.
Wsex Sportsbook to player: Thank you for your query and again I apologize for any delays in correspondence. We are continuing payments to clients during this month. I will most definitely do my best to have your payment out by Christmas. Unfortunately, to clear up this back log, which existed for over a year now; will take into February 2012 for some clients. The lost of major accounts and lack of new processing companies continue to be the major contributing factor for this ongoing delay. Again, I understand the inconvenience caused to you and sincerely apologize for this extensive delay.

Wsex manager communicated with SBR on November 16th, stating that the company would attempt to work through the spreadsheet to provide updates on when players can expect to receive partial and full payments. SBR has thus far not received an updated list from
Wsex.
Wsex continues to attempt to solicit new clients whilst the majority of their players wait for payment. New account signups are not apprised of the ongoing slow payments.
Wsex provides generic updates to customers with outstanding requests by conceding that there is a back log of requests to fill.
The last surge of
Wsex payouts came in October of 2010 when players reported receiving $124,617.
Wsex to player: Firstly, we will like to express our sincerest apologies regarding your delayed payment. We have been working through a back log of request since the beginning of this year, and really do appreciate you as a customer.

Wsex acknowledged one of the players by stating that progress is being made in scheduling payments for their backlog of delinquent requests.
Wsex confirmed that not all requests could be paid at once and again pinned the blame on processor challenges instead of a lack of a liquidity. Ninety-three players report being owed a total of $610,990, with outstanding requests dating as far back as October of 2009.
SBR followed up with
Wsex again to resend the list of players owed and was told by a manager that the list would be reviewed by this weekend.

Wsex Sportsbook updateA
Wsex Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) player awaiting $60,000 since 2010 has reported receiving $6,000 of his outstanding balance in the last two months. This is the second
Wsex Sportsbook payment confirmed this week. On November 2nd, SBR reported that a
Wsex player received $2,000.
Since SBR's last report, SBR has discussed the
Wsex slow-payments with a member of management. SBR was told that
Wsex intends to begin paying portions to larger balances with the intent to settle the remaining balances at a later date.
Wsex stated that a spreadsheet was maintained with a list of payment obligations. SBR provided
Wsex with a list of updated player complaints this afternoon.
In SBR's latest
Wsex report it was stated that the sportsbook told players processing would pickup in the next few weeks - those statements are consistent with what SBR learned from
Wsex management. Many
Wsex players were hoping that the sportsbook would begin the 2011 football campaign as it did last year when
SBR reported that $124,617 in payments were made.
Wsex likely turned a slower profit in the previous quarter enabling them to begin releasing portions of funds to players.
Eighty-eight
Wsex players are awaiting $604,060 in payments. SBR will update this report as more information becomes available.
Wsex players with payout complaints are asked to submit a

Wsex Sportsbook player reports $2,000 paymentA
Wsex Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) player reports being paid $2,000. The player had been waiting since February of 2011 for two withdrawals totaling $2,000. The player tells SBR that last month a
Wsex customer service representative recommended the player cancel his pending withdrawals and ask for a new payout using InstaDebit - a payment solution available to residents of his country. The player reports that his first withdrawal is already in his bank account, and the second has been sent to his Instadebit account.
The payment news is a positive for
Wsex players that have been waiting for their funds throughout 2011; the oldest request dating back to October of 2009. According to player complaints,
Wsex Sportsbook owes $570,010 in payments to more than 85 players. While
Wsex Sportsbook has recently declined to go on the record with SBR about the extreme payment delays,
Wsex has began informing select players via email that processing is scheduled to pick up in the next few weeks. The last surge of
Wsex payouts was the
$124,617 to players in the fall of 2010.

Wsex Sportsbook players report outstanding requests as far back as October of 2009. The last major surge of
Wsex payments came in the beginning of the 2010 football season, when
Wsex paid $124,617 to players. Unfortunately, the
Wsex debt has more than doubled since last year - the sportsbook has sullied its once good name and is not believed to have recorded much growth since beginning its downward spiral. Players with balances at
Wsex are advised to cease wagering until the sportsbook shows that it can resume processing its delinquent payouts.
Wsex Sportsbook to player: We have not forgotten about your outstanding request. As mentioned in my last correspondence, we have signed on a new processor and all our past due request are scheduled for shipment on a weekly basis. Every week, a batch will be completed and I do see that your request can be shipped by middle October. I realize that this may be a bit disappointing to you but we are honestly trying our best to ensure that your request is settled as soon as possible. Wsex once held a rating of A+ at SportsbookReview in June of 2006.
Wsex lost its status as an A-rated sportsbook in April of 2009, and continued to slide through the
sportsbook ratings guide until it eventually found itself on the
sportsbook blacklist in March of 2011.
Wsex has been the subject of several payment complaint newswires throughout 2010 and 2011. The formerly high-ranked sportsbook was considered one of the industry's most financially sound sportsbooks, even having a hand in the formulation of popular betting exchange
Matchbook (SBR rating B). Matchbook officially
severred all business ties with
Wsex after coming under new ownership, distancing itself from the failing operation.
Sixty-eight

Wsex's backwards effort in clearing the delinquent withdrawals.
Wsex player: Been waiting since March 10, 2010 for a max withdrawal ($3,000). I don't understand why people that have requested withdrawals well after me are getting paid and I'm still waiting.

Wsex chose not to comment until its payout backlog is cleared. SBR will update this report as more names are either added or removed from the

Wsex player:
I have been waiting for 2 withdrawals now for over several months from Wsex.com. One from the beginning of June for $150. and one from July 5th for $400. They keep saying the old line "it was sent to our processor and awaiting them to send the check" for several months. What a horribly run Sportsbook. They want your money instantly to bet on their site, but you cant get access to your winnings for months if at all!

Wsex current status
8/6/2010 11:15 AM
Wsex current statusIn March of 2009,
Wsex players started to see withdrawal delays. Some successfully withdrew their funds while others continued to play with
Wsex banking on its stellar reputation and financial track record. The situation worsened as the number of
slow-pay complaints submitted to SportsbookReview increased each month.
Wsex first attributed the delays to trouble with its banking processors;
however,
Wsex's financial issues were much more complex as the coming
months would show.
Wsex was downgraded 8 times from March of 2009 to July of 2010, and currently sits on a rating of D. |

Wsex refuses to pay $20,000 winning wagerWsex (SBR rating D) has refused to pay a $20,000 winning wager. A second complaint was filed from a player indicating that his bet on Cleveland in the "Who will sign Lebron?" prop was
graded as a loss. SBR initially reported
Wsex's stance in settling the market on July 10th. Other sportsbooks used clearer wordage that asked where Lebron James will play in the 2010/11 NBA season. The Cleveland Cavaliers agreed to a sign & trade in a deal that sent Lebron James to the Miami Heat. SBR is asking
Wsex to reconsider its grading.
7/10/2010 11:00 AM
Wsex botched prop wager dispute
Wsex (SBR rating D) offered the prop "Who will sign Lebron? (1-Pay)". The Cleveland Cavaliers signed Lebron James, then traded him to the Miami Heat, agreeing to a sign & trade deal. A player who considered this chain of events wrote in to
Wsex before placing the wager to inquire — he was told that if these events occurred that Cleveland would be graded the winner.
Wsex player: I just wanted to confirm a detail about the bet "WHO WILL SIGN LEBRON?"
If Cleveland signs and then trades Lebron, Cleveland will be the graded as the winner, correct?
Wsex: Dear Sir, Yes Cleveland will be graded as the winner
Wsex graded the Miami Heat the winner after Cleveland agreed to the sign & trade.
Wsex then apologized to the player stating he was misinformed. Sportsbooks must use clear and concise prop descriptions to eliminate gray area and potential confusion, in this case, the wordage of the prop suggests that the bet will be paid based on the first team that signs Lebron James to any contract for the 2010/11 NBA season. SBR has suggested that
Wsex settle the market accordingly.

SBR presents Wsex with 12 additional slow-paysSBR has presented an additional 12 slow-pays to
Wsex (SBR rating D) management.
Wsex claimed it would review the payout statuses. In prior correspondence with
Wsex, it was stated that the sportsbook would prioritize players that wrote in for
sportsbook dispute assistance. Since that message, 3 players have in fact
reported payment – however an additional 12
slow-pay complaints have been filed since that time. In total,
Wsex is slow-paying $250,617 to 47 players, the first of which is waiting on payouts requested back in October of 2009. SBR will update this report.

Wsex slow-pay -player owed $1,000 since March 22ndA new
Wsex (SBR rating D) slow-pay complaint has been filed following SBR's July 2nd update. That
slow-pay report highlighted 3 new payment complaints. In this latest instance of slow-pay, a player writes to SBR that he requested a payout of $1,000 on March 22nd.
Wsex gave its usual generic replies pinning the blame on processor changes, and allegedly asks the player to call back in a week for an updated time-frame.
Wsex has been unable to efficiently shave down its number of payout complaints, accumulating more
slow-pay complaints than there are
payment reports. 47 players have written to SBR for dispute assistance with
Wsex. Those players are owed a combined $250,617 with the earliest payment request made in October of 2009. As of July 3rd,
Wsex has been lowered to the mark of D.
Wsex player: Requested a payout of $1000 on March 22, 2010 and receive the same excuses week after week. Change of processors, checks being halted when I see people commenting on the internet of receiving checks, and plain old ignoring emails. Each time I call, I'm told to call back in a week or not given a time frame. This is not the first time they have been slow to pay. It took over two months for me to receive a little over $500 last year. I just want my money so I can move onto another sportsbook!

Two Wsex slow-pay complaints reach SBR mailboxTwo
Wsex (SBR rating D+) slow-pay complaints have been reported.
Player 1: Requested $140.00 from
Wsex on February 3rd. Player has been given various excuses about a change in carriers.
Player 2: Requested $3000.00 from
Wsex on March 23rd.
Wsex claimed to be encountering processor problems.
A major
complaint from players with
Wsex has been the fact that, seemingly, staff have been instructed to provide generic and misleading statements regarding the withdrawal process.
Wsex management did
claim to SBR that players who filed for
sportsbook assistance would be placed on priority lists. Four
Wsex players reported
payment in June; however 9 additional
slow-pay complaints were filed since those reports surfaced. In total
Wsex's debt to 46 players has now increased to $249,617. The first of those payout requests was made in October of 2009.
6/29/2010 10:14 AM
Wsex player was informed checks take up to 20 business days
Wsex (SBR rating D+) accounting gave a misleading time-line to a player that asked how long his $2155 check requested on May 4th would take to receive. He was told that the normal regular mail check delivery time is up to 20 business days. After 20 business days,
Wsex told the player the delay was caused by a switch in banking processors. In reality,
Wsex payment delays began much sooner than the purported processor change;
Wsex was first downgraded in April of last year for their payout issues.
Wsex continued its slide over the next several months and to date has fallen to the mark of D+, slow-paying 44 players $246,477.
Wsex has yet to clear the payout request of a user who attempted to withdraw his balance in October of 2009.
Wsex management
claimed players that wrote to SBR via
sportsbook complaint form would be placed on "priority lists". It is unclear how many additional users are encountering payout delays. SBR asks any player to fill out the complaint form or write directly to
help@sportsbookreview.com with their payout statuses and account numbers.

Player comments: I requested cashout two days after the Superbowl. Small payout around $150. Still have not received the check. I have emailed them several times and have been told my payout is in review with management. I just stumbled upon your site and didn't realize they were having issues until now. Small dollars, but very upset considering I have been an account holder with Wsex for about 12 years. I am a small player, but would think they would not hold up and risk another complaint for a measily $150.
I have two outstanding cashout requests with Wsex. One is from February 15th for $450 and the other is from March 24th for $530. Ever since the 3 week mark, I have called Wsex every Wednesday about my 2/15 payout and am given the same runaround. "They are backedup, my payout is next in the queue, and I will receive a tracking email by the end of the week." Clearly this is a total lie, and now I am really becoming worried.

Wsex confiscates $14,719 in casino winnings Wsex (SBR rating C) cancels $14,719 in Pai Gow winnings. From December 13th to 15th a bettor played 564 hands of Pai Gow, winning $14,719. On December 26th his account was deactivated and
Wsex confiscated all winnings. An investigation of the dispute showed that the player found a discernible pattern -
Wsex's random number generator was not random. After identifying the pattern, the player bet $100 when he expected to win, and $1 when he expected to lose. When he bet $100 the player won 98.1% of his hands.
Wsex concluded that the player was cheating via statistical analysis, claiming that the odds of a player winning this percentage of bets were astronomical.
Wsex offered no evidence that the player actually cheated, altered hand outcomes or otherwise did anything to interfere with the softwares operation.
Wsex argues that the player's ability to predict hands justifies voiding winnings.

Wsex updateWsex (SBR rating C) players report lengthy payment delays. In SBR's previous
Wsex report on October 21st, the average payment time was a reported 4-6 weeks. Since that time, three new slow-pay reports have been filed. These reports are unique in that players have waited an equivalent amount or longer despite paying a $50 fee for rush processing.
Wsex's listed time for courier service is 7 business days.
Player report:
I requested a withdrawl through their courier option for a check and paid $50 per $3000 transaction to expedite payment instead of their free option. I called the accounting department a week after the request was received by them and was told it usually took 7 business days to receive a check. I waited until 9 business days and called again after not receiving a check and was told there is a delay during the month of October and my request has been sent for processing.

BCS Bowl line hovering at 3.5SBRlines.com showed LSU favored by as much as 6 with some books in December. The line dropped slowly as the public backed Ohio State taking the points. Bookmakers have settled in at 3.5 almost across the board. Pinnacle Sports is offering the best price for LSU at -101 followed by 5Dimes at -103. Ohio State backers can get a +4 with
Wsex at -115, essentially getting the half point for a good buy of 5 cents.

SBR initiates coverage of Matchbook at B-. Matchbook is a new betting exchange that is funded by the ownership of
Wsex (SBR rating A). The exchange aims to offer the American sports bettor the ability to wager via peer-to-peer with the same ease of making a wager at a regular sportsbook. Matchbook has developed its own software and says they have focused on simplicity and functionality. Like all betting exchanges, the quality of the playing experience will be dependant on Matchbook’s ability to attract players and an active trading market. This operation is still in its infant stages.
Player funds are backed by the same investment group behind
Wsex and players are able to make transfers between Matchbook and
Wsex at no charge. However, Matchbook holds its own gaming license and has separate operational, customer service and management teams.

Wsex is back and we would expect to see more of them in a variety of media in 2005.
