HansaBet (SBR rating C) closing sportsbook; plans to void bets
HansaGaming posted a notice on its website this morning saying that it will no longer be taking sports wagers. Hansa states that if pending wagers cannot be graded by November 30th, 2007 the wagers will be voided. Players that stand to lose desirable bets are asked to contact SBR so we may contact the sportsbook on the player's behalf. Hansagaming claims it is refocusing its business plan on the poker and casino product. Players expect higher operating standards from
Bowmans International LTD, the former owner of one of the original sportsbooks,
Bowmans.com. Hansagaming only services non-US gamblers.
Bowmans' Line Manager, Scott K. parted with the company before HansaGaming was launched.

BlondeSports (SBR rating C) is taking the same actions.

Bowmans International Ltd, parent company of Bowmans (SBR rating A) until it sold the sportsbook to Bet365 (SBR rating A-) in December of last year, reemerges in the sports betting market with Hansabet. Hansabet, which has been online for just over one month, is set to give players a similar experience as Bowmans once did with the same Bowmans' service staff and Betoptions WagerPlayer software. Former head linesman of Bowmans, Scott K, has not stayed on with the company. Hansabet has been given an initial SBR rating of B. The sportsbook will remain under review as player feedback is received, Hansabet rules pages are completed, and SBR continues conversations with book management. Hansabet does not accept players from the US and Canada.

Bet365 (SBR rating A+) takes over remaining Bowmans (SBR rating A) accounts. Last month
Bowmans moved its US players to
Bodog. Today the operation effectively closed, moving the
remaining non-US players to
Bet365.
Bowmans.com now redirects to bet365.com/
Bowmans/home/default.asp where
Bowmans balance holders can log in and redeem their funds. The
Bowmans brand will be phased out as
bettors settle into the
Bet365 system.

Bodog (SBR rating A+) absorbs Bowmans (SBR rating A) USA accounts. All transferred
Bowmans player balances received a 10% bonus with a 1x roll-over that can be forfeited if the player prefers to withdraw funds. Players can now log into
Bodog using their
Bowmans account details. Pending wagers are expected to be imported to Bodog’s system in 24 to 48 hours. Players who also held a
Bodog account will have their
Bowmans balances moved to the original
Bodog account within 24-48 hours and will have two active
Bodog accounts until the consolidation is complete.
Bowmans says the decision was influenced by their casino and poker providers, which both stopped servicing US residents, and their European bank refusing to support a US-serving gaming company.
Bowmans will refocus on Canadian, European and Asian markets after cutting away over half of its client base.

Bowmans (SBR Rating A-) to switch software poviders this coming Monday, Aug.09.04, from iNet back to IQ-L Advice to the players from their Management Team: "
The change over will take place this Monday night. Bowmans will come off-line when the final game of the night is graded Monday (most likely the NFL pre-season opener). We expect the phones to come back first on Tuesday morning, probably around noon eastern, and then on the net a few hours later. All customers will be notified via email over the weekend"

Bowmans (SBR rating A-) switching software providers, from iNet to IQ-L. The change is expected to handle the heavy football action more efficiently. The new software and a new webpage is set to launch on August 2nd.

The two hottest new gaming software launches delayed again. BetWWTS (SBR rating A+) which was to launch a version of Victor Chandler's sports betting platform has informed SBR that the launch scheduled for July 12th, is "Delayed indefinitely". There are at least three sportsbooks that heavily invested in this platform including
Bowmans (SBR rating A-).
Pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+) much anticipated casino again is delayed. Apparently the casino is live in-house and for a few invited guests. One source from a casino review site who said he had played one session and was sworn to secrecy said "..its ready but I guess they have their reasons(for not going live). Forget about it, it doesn't get any better..."

Royal Sports (SBR rating D), Bowmans (SBR rating A-) SBR previews BetRoyal's new site currently in beta testing. The new site will be powered by the best current software. SBR very much impressed with the current effort. The new Royal site to debut by July 1st.
Bowmans is scrapping INet software and making a million dollar investment in a Victor Chandler-like software version. SBR viewed software last month in Antigua. This software is no less than revolutionary and will rival ASI as the players favorite software.
