ABC transferred $8000 to the player's BetCris (SBR rating A+) account. SBR is inquiring with ABC Islands on if other players can receive similar deals. The DPT Sports Group family, which includes ABC, Jazz Sportsbook, and LooseLines are currently slow-paying four other players for a total of $8500.

Bet911 cancels soccer bet citing bad line
On February 19th a Bet911 (SBR rating C-) player wagered on a Holland soccer match between Eredivisie Roda JC and Hercales. The player bet on Roda JC at +115. Seven minutes prior to the game beginning, Bet911 canceled the play. SBR has confirmed that other sportsbooks, including BetCris (SBR rating A+) opened at +115 before closing at -110. While the wager was voided before the game and cannot be settled, SBR will still speak to Bet911 on the case as they should not penalize players for their oddsmaker being slow to update their offerings - when the line was posted at Bet911 it was inline with the rest of the market.

Bookmaker.com Group Acquires LasPalmas
Bookmaker (SBR rating A+) CEO Mickey Richardson tells SBR that the acquisition of Las Palmas (SBR rating B) and sister sportsbooks has been completed. Las Palmas and its parent company Horizon20 have been a successful brand since 2001 through 2008. At the start of 2009 some players experienced payout delays and SBR readers reported over $120,000 in delinquent payout requests. Those players have already began receiving their funds and are now able to make additional withdrawal requests. Bookmaker also tells SBR that it will keep the brands, which it now fully owns, and bring them to the level of service players expect from a Bookmaker/BetCris product. Las Palmas' SBR rating peaked at B in 2008 before its players first reported negative feedback. Bookmaker has acquired many brands that have needed aid over the years. | Full Press Release: Bookmaker announces acquisition of Las Palmas.

Skybook falsely advertising Neteller withdrawals?
Skybook (SBR rating B-)
continues to stall Neteller withdrawals. One large winner writes:
When I asked why they cannot simply replenish their Neteller account, they told me that they have a general policy to not send their own funds to Neteller. So I must wait for others to deposit in order to get paid.
The player's first Neteller withdrawal request was made on April 15th for $1,000 of his $19,281 balance. As of today, the player has received only $3950. His latest pending $1,000 request, the maximum that Skybook allows per transaction, is on day 63.
On August 10th SBR first reported on Skybook’s inability to pay out via Neteller as advertised. At that time, Skybook management indicated Neteller payments were taking an average 20 days and capped at $1,000 per transfer. The average Neteller payout time has now increased to over 30 days. Skybook’s website is absent of any notice regarding Neteller delay. Only when players submit a withdrawal request are they informed of the lengthy delays and are given alternate withdrawal options with significantly higher fees. This player who is waiting two months, also complains that the sportsbook no longer offers to transfers to sportsbooks such as BetCris (SBR rating A+). SBR has advised Skybook to update its website to reflect true withdrawal wait times. Skybook Discussion | Full complaint

Multiple sportsbooks encounter DDos attacks today
Earlier today SBR reported that YouWager (SBR rating B) was reportedly facing a denial-of-service attack. Since that time, Legends Sportsbook (SBR rating A+), Dimeline Sportsbook (SBR rating D), and Bet33 (SBR rating D-) have also encountered website attacks. Earlier in the day there were reports from SBRforum readers that BetCris (SBR rating A+) was down as well, but access to BetCris has since been restored.
Some sportsbooks like BetPhoenix (SBR rating B+) have implemented a security text code (captcha) users see when visiting their website. This diverts users from random DoS website traffic.

The denial of service attacks are caused by excessive requests to a website's server which in turn leaves little or no resources for legitimate user traffic. The sportsbook's information and databases are not "hacked" or compromised. Bettors can find a list of all LiveChat links here as well as all sportsbook phone numbers. SBR readers can report website downtime here.

Legends can be reached at 1-800-246-9828.
Today (Saturday) in the morning our Legends.com site experienced an attack which forced us to take the site down temporarily as a precaution. We expect the site to be back up in short time, while in the meantime we assure the venue is once again running seamlessly.

Bet 33 can be reached at 1-800-974-0695.
We are currently dealing with a DOS Attack, phones are up, and clients can call us for back up site information

Merger and Aquistion activety at all time high. VIP Sports is the most active buyer. YouWager, BetRoyal and many smaller books are all said to be Sellers actively seeking buyouts. BetCris could also be a Buyer under the right circumstances which recently has focused on bailing out small operators. BetWWTS has made several trips and has signed at least one confidentiality agreement although we are unaware of any serious interest. Sportsbooks who have had made M&A headlines in the recent past that appear to be holding pat; Hollywood, BoDog, SportsInteraction are said to be no longer active Sellers. Smaller operations such as BetMaker, YouWager and Sportbet along with operations that have difficult reputations such as Royal Sports have mostly signed confidentiality agreements giving buyers a chance to possibly make an offer. SBR expects a pick-up in M&A activity despite rising valuations.

Attempted cover-up of a failed sportsbook is an important lesson for players. Recently a promoter of new, high risk sportsbooks attempted to cover up the failure of a certain sportsbook who also happened to be their main sponsor. SBR learned the sportsbook, Rich Coast Sports, was in trouble and issued a newswire alerting players. The promoter, the Offshorewire, made a desperate attempt to explain how their main sponsor failed including mentioning the SBR report that originally warned players. Luckily for the players, BetCris(SBR rating A+) stepped in and bailed out Rich Coast after the sportsbook had fallen into a failed "no-pay" situation.

This time of year failures will pick up. Be on the look out for con men and avoid new sportsbooks at all costs.
