UEFA Champions League Betting Odds and Preview
The Wembley stage is set to host the first all German final between FC Bayern Munchen and Borussia Dortmund in the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League Final. Sportsbook Review.com has assembled a list of the most competitive betting odds from the industry's top online sportsbooks in this article.
What began as a European top-flight competition of 32 teams and with futures markets brimming with odds, has now whittled down to two teams in showdown to kick off on May 25th at Wembley Stadium in London at 19:45 local time (20:45 CET).
The favourites Bayern Munich, now listed at -250 to win outright with Bet365, were trading as high as +650 once upon a time, when the knockout stages began. Soccer bettors that weighed in on those odds have to be well pleased to have bought in at that delicious price and will be even more so if Bayern does actually come through for them, three weeks from now . For those that missed the chance then, they can still weigh in on the current futures odds on Bayern, which still hold value by virtue of their favouritism but, admittedly, won’t payout nearly as well.
Bayern have twice reached this stage in recent history, albeit losing both times – 2010 to Inter Milan and 2012 to Chelsea, the last especially painful as the defeat came on home turf. That experience, together with a slight edge over Borussia in 2012/13 – having maintained an undefeated record in four meetings, including a 1-1 draw home and away – should see Bayern remain the strong favourites up to kick-off. To put it simply, there won’t be any major movements in the markets now, short of an injury to a key player or a significant team development that would somehow change the matchup decisively.
The underdogs Borussia Dortmund, currently at +175 to win outright, were found upwards of +700 back when the knockout stages of the competition began. Few could have predicted Borussia would make it so far, especially with second, short-odds-on-favourites Real Madrid standing in their way in the semis. Then again, the Bundesliga side surprised many by finishing top of Group D, ahead of (ironically) Real Madrid with a 4-2-0 mark.

Where match betting is concerned, naturally oddsmakers maintain the same casting with Bayern tipped as the favourites and Borussia as the underdogs. Right now, Bayern is trading at a best price of -110 on the match win at Bet365 while Borussia can be found at a tempting +350 at William Hill. These odds should continuously experience some minor movement up until kick-off, based on the volume of action that comes down the wire and, in turn, as bookies balance the action.
