StarLottoSport French Open betting dispute

UPDATED: The dispute has been resolved. Management confirms the grading was subject to a third-party provider error.

A StarLottoSport (unrated) player submits a tennis betting dispute. The player states a wager on Arnaud Clement vs Alex Bogomolov was graded as no-action. Bogomolov was injured during play and retired from the match, thus the final scoreline was Clement 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6, 5-4. SBR is investigating the complaint.

The player wagered £50 on the Clement moneyline at +100. The bet was an in-play wager.

The StarLottoSport policy on tennis wagering is as follows:

StarLottoSport rules: "If a player withdraws before the match, bets will be void. If the withdrawal takes place after the start of the match, his opponent will be deemed the winner. If at the moment of withdrawal the number indicated as “spread” of the total game has been exceeded, the results will be considered valid; otherwise all bets will be void. If a player withdraws before the first match of the tournament, bets on his performance in the tournament will be considered void"."

According to the above wording, the result should be considered valid as the total games listed for the match were exceeded. The provision does lack clarity, specifically in regards to in-play and moneyline wagering. SBR is following up with StarLottoSport to discuss the dispute.

StarLottoSport is a Malta-based organisation licensed by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta. StarLotto's license number is LGA/CL1/640/2010. StarLottoSport is operated by RGS Ltd.

SBR will update this report.
