SBR newswoman Natalie Rydström provides an SBR Industry news update with sportsbook dispute analyst Justin7. In today's program, a BetAtHome (SBR rating C-) balance confiscation is discussed as well as outstanding issues with Sports-1 (SBR rating C) as well as an update from Justin on his current cases.
BetAtHome Sportsbook is refusing to explain
a balance confiscation. A player deposited £300 on June 11th via Moneybookers to partake in Euro 2012 betting. The player successfully increased his balance to £2,350 before his account was suddenly closed. BetAtHome is alleging that there are “registration discrepancies” which prompted the closure. The player’s entire balance including his £300 deposit have been seized. BetAtHome is reportedly telling the player that his funds are being transferred to the Malta LGA.
: "Your betting account has been closed by our security department, because you obviously have registered the betting account with incorrect or incomplete data. Please note, that betting accounts have to registered with correct and valid data, which you have confirmed with agreeing to the terms and conditions. As you have violated this rule, the betting account has been closed and will not be re-opened ever again. Should there be a balance on the betting account, it will not be payed out, but transferred to the LGA. You may now open a new betting account with the correct data, however you will not be able to use the first deposit bonus."
player is having trouble getting paid. The player requested a $1,500 payout via Neteller on April 24th. He has yet to receive the funds, but was offered an alternate payout method by Sports-1 this week. The player would have to fork over a $70 fee to receive $850 maximum per week. In situations where sportsbooks are unable to honor their advertised cashout methods, the industry standard is to offer replacement methods at the same cost to the player. Sports-1 is part of the BetPhoenix Sportsbook family. SBR has followed up with management to discuss this case.
